The Moderators have day Jobs too. Afterall they are not getting renumerated , more so they are Human.

I think for the site owner to publicly lambast them like this and blame it all on them is just distasteful.

That's the problem with Nigeria. We lack basic man management and personnel skills.

About tagging 'common words', that isnt easy cuz there isn't really any distinct 'common word' which can be associated with such threads and if there's none, machine cant work. . So it all bores down to 'human action'. . The mods.

I agree. If it came down to common words some ordinary posts could be blocked and there would be even more problems. Human action and antispam bot can work well together, but the humans have to keep their eyes open and not just rely on technology to do their work for them.

I beg to disagree. It isn't easy and ordinary/innocent posts MAY (the spambot as it bans people indiscriminately so what the heck?) be blocked but it'd greatly curb the posting of the Phone Ads in this section and restore sanity to the board.

Take a glance at all the Phone Ads posted and you'll notice something common to all of 'em. . .a PHONE NUMBER for interested buyers/sellers to get in touch with the OP..

My suggestion is thus: (1) A thread should be created (by the Admin himself cos this would carry more weight) to tell people to post their Phone Ads in the Phone/internet Market Sub-section and not here and warn them of the consequences of not complying (2) Program the spambot to knock off all (new) threads posted in this section in which PHONE NUMBER(S) are dropped to the Phone/Internet Market and also automatically ban the posters & (3) Empower the moderators with the power to ban (in this section ONLY) people who deliberately flout the rule and somehow escape the spambot and post their Phone Ads here.

In cases where the spambot bans posters, the ban message should read something like ''You have been banned for posting a Phone Ad in the Phone Section. If this is a mistake send a mail to antispambot@blablabla.com or report to the moderator'' _{so I suggest the moderators of this section are also given the power to unban as well so the Super Moderator and Admin don't get overworked.}

The mods will continue to move completely off-section topics to the boards they ought to be and carry out their other mundane moderating functions.

[size=5pt]If the above measures are not implemented and a new mod is just appointed, he'll do initial ''gra gra'' at first but get tired l8r cos frankly he can't be ONLINE always and he'll eventualy get overwhelmed cos the rate at which these Phone Ads are posted is alarming.[/size]

^^^Or BB pins too. I've thought of it but MAJORITY will still use the PHONE NUMBERS so lets start with that first and see how it goes

Anyway, human (mod) action will still be required & that's why I'm advocating for the mods to be given the power to ban so they can deal with the Phone Dealers who outsmart the spambot

But if its possible, I concur with d suggestion that mods shuld be able to ban. catch 'em all. . .and also we all know how fruststrating it was when there was no mod here and only spambot worked and we were banned for 'innocent' posts before we clamoured for mods. . . .
Humans are & will get smarter than the spambot. So its still down to the mods.

"NOKIA SU-33W TV RECEIVER UPDATE" its one of the best thread in mobile section and its all about MOBILE TV UPDATE.YES! su-33w receiver and the mobile tv headset is sold there does not mean its an ad thread,we talk more about mobile tv there so i wonder why the thread was moved from sticky to sales section, make i no lie the thing pain me o! Nobody sell phone there except the mobile tv receivers,and that thread is the only mobile tv thread wey don go far,put am back for its normal place,if anybody advertise phone for sale there,then delete it
