Psalm 23 is a popular psalm we do recite quite often. But how real is verse one to many of us? Is the LORD really your shepherd?
Psalm 23:1 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want”. Can you truly say that the LORD is your shepherd because you are HIS sheep? This is because the LORD can never be your shepherd unless you are HIS sheep.

The BIBLE said in John 10:14-16 “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”

The sheep suppose to know the voice of the shepherd and follows the shepherd. A sheep that refuse to follow the shepherd is at a risk of been devoured by wide animal because it will not be protected by the shepherd. Moreover, a sheep must be in company of other sheep under the care of the shepherd because the shepherd knows where green pasture is.
