On 17th of September I made a mobile transfer from my Bank Account to a client's Account, after two days he called that he didn't receive any alert, I have to forward the Debit alert to him.

After two weeks, he went to his bank to verify and he was told to ignore me, that I didn't send any money to his account. Out of annoyance, I went to my bank and laid a complain on October 11th, I was given a form to fill, at the end they gave me 7 working days to reverse the money to my account.

After the expiration of the 7 days and I didn't see any shi..shi, I have to put a call to my bank's customer service, I was shocked when they informed me that the transaction actually went through contrary to what they told me earlier. I have to call my client who went to his bank for further verification but was told that they didn't receive any money from my account.

My bank maintained that the transfer I made on 17th September actually went through while my friend's bank maintained that they never see any money into his account.

Bankers in the house, how possible is it for this to happen? My banker friends here in Sharjah said that it is not possible.

I have instructed my lawyer to take legal action against my Bank.
Bellow are the debit alert and the acknowledgement receipt of my complain.

How can two banks be saying different things.

Your bank that took the money off your account should be held liable. The onus is on them to prove that they sent money to Bank B otherwise a refund should suffice.

Hi OP, if your bank (UBA, I presume, from the screenshot sent) insists the transfer was successful, and the beneficiary's bank insists no transfer was made to his account, then isn't it possible you made the transfer to a wrong account?

I have seen this happen firsthand.

Here's what you should do;
1. Please confirm from your bank the account number, bank, and account name the transfer was made to.

2. If it's actually your friend's name and account number, then get both of your statements of accounts (this can either be printed or gotten from the mobile app/online banking)

3. If there is no trace of the transaction in his account, but it's in yours then you can escalate as you see fit.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

I made the transfer to the correct account and the debit alert was sent to this effect. Besides this is not the first time I have sent money to this account.

Anything is possible in Naija. Some Hushpuppi type has probably managed to insert himself between your banks. We can expect this to be happening more now

just do this and if you are right, sue them for inconveniences even if they refund your money They must pay for damage, stress and any effort you went through.
