Lol. Those haters? Na envy of Yorubas and obsession with us will kill them. Whereas we don't care about them or their barren land. Never set foot in their region likely never will.

@Post.
Great development. No surprise because the SW is punching way below her capacity per human and material/mineral/geographical endowment.

Let all Yorubas push for regional governance .
Once we gain it we can achieve our true potentials free of 'one Nigeria' encumbrance.

Bro, please forget "Regional governance" which our founding fathers painstakingly deliberated upon among themselves as the most appropriate style of governance giving the nature of the country.

However, 6 years later, some smart Alex's (with ulterior motives) truncated our nancent democracy, scuppered our constitution and without even conducting a plebiscite, unilaterally replaced it with unitary system of governance.

What we need and required is an outright separation from these people who has never meant us well and actually wants to covert our land and resources.
Let everyone bears his/her father's name. We have nothing in common, save the colour of our skins.

We should never have agreed to being lumped with these guys in the first place. When one considers thr landmark progresses we attained when we were FULLY in charge of our region and its resources (both human & natural), it will be obvious to even the blind that this pseudo One Nigeria is definitely against our development. It is an impediment to our progress.

I agree with a lot of your points. If you are suggesting our own nation, I am a big fan of that also.

As a realist, I must ask you how do suggest we get beyond the fact the Nigerian constitution outlaws secession?

Remember arguably the greatest Yoruba to exist in the modern era, Awolowo, sought to include a secession clause in our constitution deliberately and purposefully because he understood the lack of it will forever be used to frustrate any region that wants to leave the union.

Do you know more than Awolowo? If yes, tell me how we can secede today legally and immediately when Awolowo, credited to be one of the wisest and most intelligent Yorubas to live, never achieved it..

Buhari can level the SE legally because Kanu and IPOB are agitating for what our constitution, superior to everything else, prohibits. That's the reality for adults into successful solutions provisions.

In life you must work smarter not harder. We have hosted regional governance before and can re-introduce it as a step in the right direction If we cannot have Oduduwa because constitutional legality does not allow for that. Let us settle for the next best option.

We are the same in wanting the best for Yorubas but we differ in that I accept we can have a plan B if plan A is not workable.

There is more than one way to skin a Cat. Being obdurate, one-dimensional and singularly focused on an independent nation, as absolute, is not a smart or winning approach towards our best interest.

Which Constitution are you talking about? Is it the Independence day one that WE all agreed to or the one written by the military regime of Abdul salami or whatever his phocking name is?

I certainly don't make claims that am more knowledgeable than PA Awolowo however I don't recollect anytime Awo agitated for a yoruba nation ot for secession from the federal govt. Awo contested in the "79 election.

The "99 constitution started off with " we the people...............". I don't know about you but I was old enough at the time in question and I do not remember when we were consulted and acquiced to this unworkable unitary system of governance.

The "superior" constitution you are eulogising is unfortunately not worth the piece of paper it's written on. Its actually thr source of our problem and until its jettisoned in to the garbage bin, this flawed amalgam will remain in perpetual doldrums.
