Please, I know you want to say the truth but don't. Continue to lie. Lying is fine so don't kill yourself about it. But selfish lying is wrong. Those are the two categories of lying I know till now. But in this case this lying can't be categorized. But one thing is sure it is not selfish lying. And since it is hard to put it in the first category of lying, your brother is putting you through serious pain in your upstairs.
So, see what you would do now. Keeping lying, and add additional money to the lie, this will compensate for the pain he is giving you. Then find a professional lying course online and learn it and Incase he confronts you, you will have a defense lie to tell.

Although this is the advice I would like to give if it were your parents that were doing this to you. But it is your brother.

Only your biological parents or parents are truly responsible for your education.

What if the parents intentionally focused all their little resources on the first child, knowing they were going for broke, in the hope that child will support to train the 1 other kids? As in last retirement money or they sold property. It is done in parts of the country.
That aside, blood is thicker than water, no matter what, siblings must drag themselves up! Go and look at emoney and his older brother kc. No matter what shit they have their hands into, they pull themselves up.
I cannot have money and my siblings do not. Even if they have nothing going, try to make them comfortable to your best ability and help them start up something.

Hope you know that most people will see no reason to hustle when comfort is handed to them easily? Some siblings are wicked. Mine isn't but i have seen several cases of siblings expecting one person to foot all their bills and even attempt to scam each other. Not all family members deserve help.

I owe my parents a lot. They actually loved me and did so much for me.... but it's not my responsibility to take care of my siblings, they should work jut hard as I did.

Our mentality enslaves us. Why send a child to school when you can't sponsor that child. Rather let the person go learn a skill or something so that he or she can pay the little bills. Nigerian parents don't care enough
