Peter Obi’s $12.24million Investments As Anambra Governor Now Worthless – Governor Soludo

November 10, 2022

Soludo said he was not aware of any investment in the state by any of his predecessors.

The Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, on Thursday said the purported investment of the sum of N1,955,535,247.00 (an equivalent of approximately $12,616,356.43 at the then average CBN exchange rate of N155.00/$1) by one of his predecessors in office, Peter Obi, is worth next to nothing.

Obi is the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Before clinching the party’s ticket, he governed Anambra State from 2006 to 2014.

He had invested millions of dollars in International Breweries on behalf of Anambra State as a governor.

International Breweries (IB) Plc is a subsidiary of the world’s largest brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) — a multinational drink and brewing giant based in Leuven, Belgium.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Soludo said he was not aware of any investment in the state by any of his predecessors.

“I think there was something I read about somebody speculating about whatever investment. With what I’ve seen today, the value of those investments is worth next to nothing. So, let’s leave that aside,” the governor said.

He added, “We are handing out employment letters to more than 5,000 teachers to end an era of schools without teachers.

“We are going to have 240 plus doctors and consultants to man our general hospitals, so if you look at the five fingers approach of our programmes; we designed our budget to keep our eyes on the ball.”

Smiles...

Even if Peter Obi comes, he would not find it that easy.
You are on point, Nigeria need a president who will be ready to make sacrifices to bring the country to the right path since it has gone the wrong path all these years. Nothing is left to share again

Shut up please, you have no moral right to preach about governance, you mean the same subsidy that your Tinubu and Buhari said was a scam? All of a sudden they entered govt and realized they can continue to cash out through it. APC and deceit are like 5 and 6. Once you support APC you loose all your sensibilities. shame on you lots
Its easier said until you get there

Why can't ANAMBRA compete with lagos currently

Anambra can't compete with Lagos currently because Lagos has been Federal capital for 78 years, with the only sea port in Nigeria,
never destroyed during the Nigerian Civil war etc. Anambra is 29 years old, was destroyed during the Nigerian Civil war, was built with £20 after the war, never been a federal capital even for one day, experienced her first indigenous governor in 1999/2000. How do you expect both to be at the same rate!

It’s no rocket science. Tough decisions would have to be taken, like removal of petroleum products subsidies, harmonization of the exchange rates of the naira with major international currencies ,to patronize made-in-Nigeria goods, debt management, privatization of some federal government assets, etc
Each time some of these decisions were taken in the past we would all take to the streets to protest against it, but it has now come to the point that it is inevitable.
Tinubu don't have the energy to do all these for now, he is supposed to retire but his people believed it's their turn to rule Nigeria.
If we don't get right next year we still going to face more years of rudderless governance and more hardship.
God should have mercy and cause His light to shine on us and let the right person to win for the sake of our future generations and the poor masses

Shettima also took a swipe at the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, saying: “Peter “Gringori” Obi is my friend but “Gringori” has absolutely nothing to offer apart from dubious statistics. So [in] the choice before us, there is a difference between daylight and darkness.”

That last part is for those that have sense

Are you for real? How many years is Abuja as Federal capital 28! Look at how it has developed. Do you know how many institution both national and international that based on Lagos, some refused to go Abuja. Do you know how many dividends this federal capital yield to Lagos? Look at Ogun state is it not Lagos that is promoting Ogun State. The structure is there already. All most all the companies have their head office in Lagos.

In terms of Obi administration and that Tinibu, you can't compare the both, Obi beat Tinibu hands down in all ramifications. You can't doubt that.

If west Africa is not cursed how can a party that failed woefully after they promised us " CHANGE"..is preparing for a re-election and they are telling us to prepare for worse times ahead?..what can be worse than what people are going through now?? when two of my siblings were kidnapped in one year and I received calls from these kidnappers I begged and begged them for their release but they kept calling outrageous amount until a ransom amount was paid in millions at that moment I knew APC played all of us ...if them remove subsidy without providing subsidized transport, Nigeria go shut down for their very own eyes... useless old men!!!

Why are you angry? If you know that voting Tinubu will bring peace, why are you angry?

It is equally wrong of you to say such to millions of people who have the constitutional rights to vote their choice of candidates. If truly your Obi is popular and sure of winning the election. Then I see no reason to attack anyone constitutional rights.

You need to be careful and avoid the election to consume you in a fight you are not capable of. Vote your candidates and let anyone vote his candidates, at the end no candidates will do or perform magic. They are just sweet talking but this is the gospel truth.
