It's usually common for me to look youngest where I work. There is this place I work in Toronto that they assumed I'm the youngest. I guess it's because im black because im sure im older than one Middle Eastern Girl that we work together. For some reason, when they are on break, they would make the comment "you know she's still young". I usually laugh it off but seriously, I wish they knew how much I dislike such statement

In the bigger organization where I work, last week Wednesday, my manager made same comment,she said did I see some young girls, around my age. The girls I saw there would be around 16years but they are fat girls. I chuckled and said non of them are my age mates

I went to supervise a program and one of the teen girls thought I was part of them,lol. And the coordinator actually felt like we were mates, someone that was employed on college cert.
Just because they are fat, they would assume they are older which is highly unethical. Or because they have children

I go just dey look them like movie and apply to other places and give them sack letter. I've not just had time to apply for any job.

But seriously, it must be your looks.
You must look like a teenage girl around 14 for them to constantly compare you with teenage girls.

Another thing is, what kind of job are you doing?

If you see a qualified medical doctor, you cant imagine him to be 16 even if he looks 10.

Your brain will tell you he must have attended some primary/secondary schools before the 7year course.

This one is sweet body talk.


For someone who lives in a place with a lot of job options.

People subconsciously attribute a bigger body with age & will show more respect.

I tried it out, used to have a thin frame when I left uni, went to nysc & bulked up. Everywhere I entered it was "Sir" "Daddy" especially when I put on native. Lost the weight & it was back to normal even with beards. Bulk up again & you'll see the immediate difference.

So imagine how they'll see you if you're small & probably short.

That's sometimes the case.
Westerners think I'm over 15years younger than I am.
Most of them age and develop wrinkles faster than blacks.
