Nightmare Faced By Nigerian Students by Giwoni: 1:51pm On Nov 30, 2022
One of my WhatsApp contacts posted yesterday on her status that 60 leaves exercise book is now sold at a cost of #400 as against #70 few years back but, I shrugged my shoulders in disbelieve. Today, I decided to go and price the book by myself and I was shocked to my bone marrow when the seller told me that she can sell it to me for #350 because I am her old customer.

As that is not enough, one bag of sachet water is currently on sale at #270 while one sachet water is #30 or two for #50 as against #80 and $5 respectively. To mention a few...

Some parents have not come to understand that price of commodities have skyrocketed around different schools and still give their children in school #5,000 - #10,000 as feeding (pocket) money. Remember I have not talked about the cost of cooking gas, food stuff, vegetables etc.

My question is how did we get to this point? If the price hike is not curtailed, what negative impact will it have on Nigerian students who attend school here in Nigeria?
