The platform is over 20yrs old founded in 5th July 1994 by one of the richest men in the world Jeff Bezos.
This E-commerce platform has been on top of the e-commerce game from the start and is also well known for being one of the biggest company with the highest number of employees across the world having about 1.4 million employees and also about 2.4 billion website visitors.

It doesn't get much bigger than Amazon when it comes to internet money-making. Amazon is a great place to start for any entrepreneur searching for a new approach to make some cash. They provide a number of options for you to share their riches with them through their website.

Whether you sell something or not, there are numerous methods to make money on Amazon

One problem is that whenever we (Nigerians) hear anything about making money on Amazon, our mind quickly directs us towards KDP but KDP isn’t the only known way to make money on Amazon.
Remember Amazon doesn’t only sell books, It’s an e-commerce platform that sells literally everything so be rest assured, if you don’t fancy the idea of creating books, you can tap into marketing other products on Amazon.

I have a strong belief that works for me, that’s one secret that all millionaires & billionaires are well acquainted with.
If you want to make massive money in life, SELL TO PEOPLE.
Marketing is one of the oldest businesses in the world that hasn’t really changed its system rather it became better with the internet.
From the time of Jesus till today, people buy and sell products.
Desires are met because products are being created to suit the taste of people who are willing and able to purchase these products.

When a service or product is in demand, you can utilize that opportunity, create something that supersedes both your competitors and your buyer’s desire, Trust me when I say this, if you play by this single rule, you will make millions In your sleep.
It’s that easy, Audience -> Demand -> Quality -> Sales -> Money

And if you do know Amazon very well, there’s no better place to sell products on.
Luckily for the improved system in marketing, you don’t need to own a product to sell it and am not talking about affiliate marketing.
Amazon has a lot of ways through which you can make money and you don’t always need to own a product in these systems. Remember, The reason they give you all these opportunities to earn is that Amazon makes money when you make money,
So whenever you make sales, indirectly Amazon is making sales.
To make sure this chain of money keeps flowing, Amazon keeps creating lucrative ways through which you can maximize your earning rate and of course more comfortably giving their customers a top notch service and high quality products.

HOW CAN YOU AS A NIGERIAN MAKE MONEY ON AMAZON

Well to be honest with you, I haven’t fully discovered all the ways you can make money on Amazon because it’s numerous, Am not a master or a mentor of some sort but am well good at what I do
And with what I know and have experienced on Amazon, I can give you my word that Selling on Amazon can change your life.

Let’s start with the one people are more familiar with,

Amazon KDP

One funny thing I discovered is that lots of folks have been publishing books on Amazon but doesn’t really understand how it works, I won’t go into details because am just trying to introduce these systems to you,
Later on, I will create an individual post on how you can perfectly learn how these businesses can make you thousands of dollars if articulated in the right manner.

A person met me one time, and was like “If i Invest a certain amount of money on Amazon KDP, how much do I get in return“
Am like lol, it’s funny how lots of people think that purchasing courses or paying for premium versions of some tools (sites and extensions) is what makes them money in these online businesses,
The truth is, purchase courses of thousands of dollars all you want, if you don’t study the course and implement all you’ve learnt, you are not going to make a single dime there and if you don’t know how to make use of those tools, your results won't differ.

I don’t blame people with such mindset because some of the marketers or course creators out there aren’t telling people the truth.
Well to you that is reading this post, Amazon KDP is beyond just purchasing a course or publishing books on Amazon.

When you walk into a bookstore, what exactly do you do? Understanding the general human way of conception and perception is what makes one money in any business.

Amazon KDP in a simple term is all about writing/creating quality books to sell to a particular audience who’s in need of it/ wants it and also has the purchasing capacity to buy the book.

That’s just it, Quality + Demand + Visibility is what equals $$$ in KDP
This is just a summarized illustration of what Amazon KDP is.

For those that are encountering KDP for the first time, You don’t need to be a writer to make money in this system, You can create low content books which doesn’t require any writing skills, Low content books are those books with either lined or blank interiors such as your kids notebook, drawing books, journals, planners, cookbooks E.T.C

OR

You can source out contents on the internet (Free PLR contents) and paraphrase it manually or with paraphrasing tools.

OR

You can hire a ghost writer to write books for you.

Most Nigerians in KDP choose the second option because it seems way easier and cheaper to do.

Low Content books seems highly competitive but that’s just because not everyone makes good researches before embarking in the journey.
And lots of people are looking for easy to-create low content books,
There are low content books that takes time, weeks or months just to get done
These ones if placed in the right place and with the right cover will definitely make you a large amount of sales.
It’s not about it being hard or the length of time used in creating it, it’s about it being different from others.
When there’re thousands of alternatives to a product, the only way to convince a buyer to purchase your book instead of others is by giving them reasons why your book is better than others.
So taking time to create a book that doesn’t really look like what others are doing gives you a high chance of making sales and once you place it in a visible place, your books will definitely make some sales.

High content books with the rates courses are being created on how to create book contents and the number of people learning the system added to those hiring professional writers to write books for them gives me the idea that it’s definitely going to get highly saturated as Low content books.

But know one thing, no business is ever over saturated
You can always make money no matter the number of competitors
You just have to create a brand with well known quality products around you.

Money is being made every minute by your fellow human beings (Nigerians too), so you either join them or watch them.

So in total summary of KDP
All buyers come to Amazon seeking to buy a product, Some come looking for books (digital books and Print copies)
Your job is to give them a quality book that is worth spending on,
Thanks to amazon’s provision of keywords boxes and keyword indexed titles and subtitles + categories, you can easily make your book visible to these buyers that needs or wants your book and also remember to place it at an affordable price ( this you can do by checking the price range of other books of your book’s caliber ).

Know This, at first you won’t figure it all out, it’s normal in every business.
There’s no secret strategy of making money in this.
Just work with what you know, never stop learning and keep repeating the method that works for you.

We have Dropshipping
Drop shipping via google definition is a form of retail business wherein the seller accepts customer orders without keeping stock on hand.
To explain more, unlike arbitrage where you need to buy a product to sell, drop shipping is simply a business model that allows you to sell products without actually purchasing them. You just need to contact a reliable supplier, get a customer who is willing to pay for the product and make your deal.
The supplier delivers the product and you make your money.

(Another Definition) Drop shipping is an e-commerce method in which the seller takes orders on behalf of a manufacturer, distributor, or supplier. Then, when a customer buys the product, the seller uses their supplier to fulfill those sales.
Often, dropshippers reposition the sold goods as their own and the end consumer is never made aware that the goods came directly from the manufacturer.

If you ask any experienced e-commerce seller for a good way to get started selling products online without breaking the bank or spending a ton of time, he/she can’t make make a list without adding drop shipping.
It’s a one of a kind business and doesn’t really require any capital of some sort.

NOW HOW DO YOU RUN A DROP SHIPPING BUSINESS ON AMAZON

With the definitions above, you can see where this is going to. All you need to do just like I wrote earlier is to contact a reliable supplier who is willing to fulfill orders when placed.
Drop shipping on Amazon makes use of a system known as Amazon FBM.
Amazon FBM (Fulfillment by Merchant) refers to a method of selling where a seller lists products on Amazon, but manages storage, shipping, and customer support in-house or through a third party.

The FBM system holds you (the seller) accountable for the whole marketing process, the benefits you will enjoy from Amazon is that your product can be listed on the Amazon platform making is visible to the millions/billions of people that shops on Amazon.

Although ( The business is quite booming, it does have a few restrictions ).
I personally believe arbitrage is better and makes far more money but unlike arbitrage, you won’t be needing to spend a single dime to walk this through.
The reason I don’t fancy drop shipping is that finding suppliers are kinda hard. Amazon has a strong policy that forbids you from running your a dropshipping business by using a market store like Walmart or Target as your supplier. The reason is that it might cause customer confusion, if a customer receives a product from Amazon but the invoice says Walmart is the owner of the product, that’s confusing and would definitely bring a bad name to the business so this restricts you from having access to these markets (retail shops) out there which leaves you in the spot of searching deeper for a supplier.
It’s gonna take a few hours of your time but it’s worth it, remember you are not spending money, so just a little bit of time will do.
People doing well in this category make $5000 - $10000 plus per month.
It’s all about getting well acquainted with the routes of the business, having different suppliers of hot selling products and actively listing more products on Amazon.
Your marketing might be limited to a particular geographical area cause not all suppliers will be willing to deliver a product beyond their state. It all depends on the product.
Am not an expert on drop shipping but with my research, I know for sure that the business is one of a kind. I haven’t done dropshipping on Amazon actually, the reason I added it to the list is that it’s one productive way to make some money without any capital. Regardless of that,
What I advice people is that if they can spend the amount of time and effort needed in this business, once they make some cash from it, they should switch into FBA.
This helps them get the work done and make them more money too.

HOW DO YOU MAKE MONEY THROUGH THIS FBA AS A NIGERIAN

This means that through the arbitrage system, you can purchase products from a manufacturer or in a marketplace and sell it in another marketplace for a higher price to make a profit.

For example, you bought a watch of 10,000 on jumia
And you go to konga to sell it for 25K
That’s you making 15K profit per watch that you sell.

The truth is that, with this system, you can make over $1000 a day if you find a high quality product with good demand.

Now to merge this to what we are here to talk about,

How do you run an arbitrage business through the Amazon FBA system ?

First thing to do is to create a seller account on Amazon.
That doesn’t require any advanced knowledge-
Just simply providing your identification and payment details and of course, verifying it also.
Years ago Nigeria wasn’t among those supported to run an FBA business and that affected lots of us that wanted to venture into the e-commerce:arbitrage world.
As we all know, we Nigerians never give up, some people devised a means through which they can set up their FBA Seller account even with the restriction.
Some Nigerians contacted people from UK/US to help them create an account and verify it for them, while others where able to get companies that provide the service of helping them to identify as a US citizen for verification purposes ( I don’t know this exact system in details but it does require the use of VPN ).
Well now, we can actually get this done without any falsified document or identification, i.e creating an FBA account as a Nigerian with Nigerian verification since Nigeria has being listed as one of the countries supported by Amazon to utilize the Amazon FBA system.
Once your account is set (including your payment option), you are good to go.

Second step: You need to find a hot selling product on Amazon, check the competition rate and see if you can fit in.
Remember: to make money in any business, demand matters. You choosing the wrong products will be a starting point to your failure, This is why product research is one of the most essential step to take in this business.

Next step is to look for suppliers/manufacturers or market places where you can purchase those products for a low price.
Since you are buying in bulks, you will get it on a low price or at a discount.

Thirdly is shipping them to Amazon warehouse ( I’d advice that you should make sure your suppliers are based in the US to avoid high delivery cost )
Once it arrives and it’s stored, you can enlist them on Amazon and just like other products, they will sell well if you place them in the right order (Good and compelling descriptions and title, Adding A+ contents, relevant keywords, categories, and the right pricing).

For this business, I would recommend you having no less than $500 budget to begin with, that’s a small budget but you can comfortably run your business with it.
Even though $1000 is the best budget plan for beginners but nevertheless, Once you start making gains, you can expand
Remember your income depends on the pricing and quality + demand.
This business can make you a millionaire in no time but only if you do the necessary deals,
People buy things of 0.50 cents from manufacturers and sell them for $10+,
The higher you spend, the higher you stand a chance of earning big if the product is in demand and your products have a good quality and are visible enough to be seen by potential buyers, Do keep a tab on your expenditures and plan out before taking any step.
Establishing a brand is a must here because your products needs to be trademarked.
Another system you’d need to understand is Gating,
A gated category is a category that has required Amazon's approval for sale. Amazon might require performance checks, additional fees, and other qualification for certain products and categories.
This is to protect against counterfeits and devaluing of brands and products & to avoid bad customer experience.
It requires some steps for you to ungate these products (showing Amazon you are eligible to sell on those gated categories by providing them with some information which includes your purchase invoice.

Amazon FBA is actually the best in the list that’s why I saved it for the last.
Since we are talking about how to make money, online arbitrage with FBA has a bigger potential to make you millions in just a few weeks than others but as a beginner, you shouldn’t expect such success even though it’s achievable.
I will strongly advice you to apply more effort but less expectation so that you won’t get discouraged with your first results.
Let’s say you are expecting to earn $200 for first launch and you end up earning upto $700, thus triple + of your expectations, this in turn will give you more motivation and inspiration to do more and achieve more.
This is a business, and just like a regular store you open up on the streets, it may boom immediately or might take its time.
I personally believe that if you do your research well, you’ll definitely make some good sales in your first week of launch.
Treat it like a real business and it will milk money for you like a real business.

Making money is all about effort with the right research and implementation, Knowledge first before implementation.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions when you are stuck, People are making it out there so you too can, you just have to take a step.
Don’t use other people’s failure to predict your future outcome, neither should you predict your future outcome with other people’s success rather learn from the failures of others and be inspired by the success of the successful ones.
Always be consistent and productive in what you do and never be afraid to try out new things.
