The Abia state PDP governorship candidate Prof. Eleazar Uche Ikonne has applauded Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, The Speaker Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji and Members of the Abia State House of Assembly for the passage and signing into law of the H.A.B. 61: Abia State Female Persons Right of Inheritance of Property Bill, 2022

The 2023 governorship hopeful hailed the leadership and members of the 7th Abia Assembly for their Solicitousness, Commitment, and Gender Sensitivity in making sure that the rights of Abia women are protected.

Prof Ikonne stated that Abia women are hardworking and intelligent and have showcased prominent, inspirational, influential, and quality leadership skills in the public and private sectors locally and globally and are therefore veritable assets in leadership, he reaffirmed his promise that women will form 35 percent of his government when he takes over next year and that under his government the full rights of the Abia woman will be protected.

He applauded the cordial relationship that had existed between the executive and legislative arms of government and attributed the successes being recorded by the state as a product of the harmonious relationship between the two important arms of government.

He congratulated the Abia women for this breakthrough and thanked the Abia State House of Assembly for legally recognizing the rights of the Abia women.
