⚡ Fresh photographs of General Surovikin somewhere in Africa.

Judging by the photos, he continues to work on the process of decolonization on the African continent.

I laugh at that "decolonization". So what does Russia gain by helping Africa? There have to be something in it for everyone

Imagine the rubbish as in the madness? What happens to Wolof or Fula as the official language?
See a very young president oooh for that matter.
I think black African leaders are very big problem.

Haven't you seen any of the recent posts? Specifically, the one that claimed Russia is decolonizing Africa, or the one that suggested inviting Wagner to Nigeria to take over the army's responsibilities? Africa just keep making the same mistake

⚡Germany has now made it easier for Indian security forces to directly purchase small arms directly from German manufacturing companies, easing permits.

Previously, even a small similar deal with India required a large number of permits both at the level of Germany and various EU and NATO structures.

It is also reported that this is the first step in removing various barriers in bilateral cooperation with Delhi with the aim of further expanding German defense exports.

This is why I don't like military, why would you suspend all those TV stations. They can't all be that bad, even if they are, Instead of silencing them, the military could establish its own TV station to present its perspective and let the public decide who to trust. This approach would promote healthy competition and allow people to make informed choices about the information they consume. But to military everything is by force

Western media houses, not local ones

I support this move. We need to study how China did theirs 30yrs ago

More debris in Gaza than Ukraine: UN

The Gaza Strip is filled with more war debris and rubble than Ukraine, the head of UN demining operations for the narrow Palestinian territory said Wednesday.

And the danger for clearance work is restricted not just to unexploded ordnance but includes possible exposure to toxic substances such as asbestos.

The United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) estimated the amount of debris in Gaza at 37 million tonnes in mid-April, or 300 kilogrammes per square metre.

“Gaza has more rubble than Ukraine, and to put that in perspective, the Ukrainian front line is 600 miles (nearly 1,000 kilometres) long, and Gaza is 25 miles (40 km) long,” said Mungo Birch, head of the UNMAS programme in the Palestinian territories.

But the sheer volume of rubble is not the only problem, said UNMAS.

“This rubble is likely heavily contaminated with UXO (unexploded ordnance), but its clearance will be further complicated by other hazards in the rubble,” Birch told journalists.

“There’s estimated to be over 800,000 tonnes of asbestos, for instance, alone in the Gaza rubble.” The cancer-causing mineral used in construction requires special precautions when handling.

⚡AFU command to blame for Russian army's breakthrough in Ukraine's defences towards Avdeevka

Some Ukrainians are already openly expressing their dissatisfaction with the officers, Ukrainian soldiers told Al-Jazeera correspondents.

"My company was literally destroyed. We were carrying out tasks in the most difficult conditions and nobody cared. We attacked without support and with stupid orders, and we defended without support and with the same stupid orders," the publication quoted one of the soldiers as saying.

Experts have described the Ukrainian army's retreat from Ocheretino as a "systemic failure" that could lead to serious complications for Ukraine in the near future.

⚡Georgia’s parliament on Wednesday advanced a controversial “foreign influence” bill, which has sparked weeks of mass protests and warnings from Brussels that it would damage Tbilisi’s European aspirations.

Lawmakers voted 83 to 23 to adopt the bill in a second reading, despite three weeks of anti-government protests. The ruling party has said it wants to sign it into law by mid-May.

Hong Kong was lashed by nearly 10,000 cloud-to-ground lightning strikes from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning, according to data from the city’s weather observatory.

The Chinese city is accustomed to high humidity levels during April leading up to monsoon season, with residents prepared for sudden downpours during their workday commutes.

Beginning 9:00 pm Tuesday evening, Hong Kong skies put on a flashy display, with the observatory recording 5,914 lightning bolts in a single hour as rain bucketed down.

By 10:59 am on Wednesday, it had recorded 9,437 ground-to-lighting strikes, with the majority hitting Hong Kong’s New Territories East region.

Hong Kong island was the second-largest recipient of strikes, with towering residential buildings lit up by the near-constant bolts.

Tuesday night’s thunderstorm also caused delays at Hong Kong’s international airport, while in the eastern Sai Kung region, violent winds whipped at a Cantonese opera theatre made up of bamboo scaffolding, according to video shared on social media.

Nice bill. Hope it will become an Act of Parliament as soon as possible. These NGO's can't be trusted.
