A pressing issue here, anytime I come on nairaland and there is news about the war going and the uk is mentioned people will start insulting them or when some Nigerians are making plans to travel to the UK countries some naira landers always lambast the UK saying it a poor country, too much tax and it doesn't encourage Iaving.

Well, in my own opinion I think the UK is a great country the only issue here is that it a small country, I don't know why they didn't expand and claim land like Russia, US and Canada, instead of forming colonies. The UK is the 6th country with the highest Gdp and they are approximately more than 60 billionaires(bristish asian and white British) but why do most nairalander hate UK?
I have family relative(ilitrate)who went there and in 6 month time started building house in Nigeria. So how is the UK a poor country?

Not perfect but decent enough country to live in, free healthcare (sort of), good roads with safe driving culture (don't need to be in a hyper aware state when you're on the road), consistent electricity, no natural disasters, good sewage, drainage, waste etc management. It has its flaws of course, just listing out some of the positives

Don't know what the immigration system is like though, I've heard mixed reviews. That's probably a factor

If Nigeria had its shit together I'd live there instead though

Nigeria is a fantastic place to leave. Everytime sm in lagos or Abuja, I stay in the most expensive areas. Never had issue in Nigeria except wit single women. They bring stress. That's y I only sleep wit married women sir.they bring joy & i pay them between 200k & 230 k...100%((REAL TALK)

Even the rich can't insulate themselves from things like medical emergencies, bad roads and security issues. I'm not talking about buying all the fuel in the world for your generator when light is down

But I enjoy Nigeria asides these issues

I wazin Nigeria for 8 weeks and juss left in November. I stayed in Lagos at my friend's place in on area called banana Island.. which waz meant to be like the so called dubai in Nigeria. I waz not impressed...nada. security waz ok. I found it so boring becuz finding women was gadddem difficult....everybody waz indoor. I almost went krazy until my friend took me to another region..can't remember the name but plenty women down there. Best part waz when we went for a ride in my friends yacht. Wot am trying to say is that Nigeria is a fantastic place to live only under one condition
That was the only time i enjoyed Nigeria more than London...nice women!!(REAL TALK)

Nigeria needs money and more importantly p, partnerships. As a former colony of the UK, they can provide more beneficial partnerships to Nigeria. Access to markets, setting up of critical infrastructure, helping to prevent organized corruption by our leaders are areas that they could help Nigeria more, but what do we see, we have largely been left to swim or drown on our own.

I hate that country with passion. I will not visit even with a full paid expense ... The only time I tried visiting on vacation when I was much younger, they wanted to mess with me at Heathrow and I requested to be put back in the plane back to naija. Forget all the stories, no country sweet like naija ...
