Messi World Cup Victory Has Still Not Ended The G.O.A.T Debate (opinion) by LesbianBoy(m): 8:33pm On Dec 19, 2022
Look all of over social media and all you will keep seeing is "No more debate again Messi is now the G.O.A.T" or "Messi winning the world cup has ended any debate on who is the G.O.A.T"

If you are one of those that typed that nonsense you must be joking!

Why?

Because the rivalry between Messi and CR7 has not been a fair one. So the debate is still on and will always be on! tongue

Messi has always been favoured more than CR7 whether it is natural or by humans.

And I am not saying this because Messi just won the world cup I have always said it before yesterday victory for Argentina.

I don't think many football fans know how difficult what CR7 has done during this his rivalry with Messi.

Now let's get down to why I say Messi has been favoured.......

Favouritism by football organizers: I remember when former fifa president in 2012 opening shaded CR7 and praised Messi.....can you imagine?! Even Uefa president did same. People who should be neutral. Do you know how that would make CR7 feel and make make Messi feel? Let's use Nigeria election as example......it's like inec chairman shading Peter obi and praising tinubu that's how I see it. Now tell me how would Peter obi and his fans feel and how will tinubu and fans feel? Ofcourse sad (and lost of faith in the organizers to do a fair job) and happy respectively. Let's come back.....lnspite of all these, CR7 didn't care and kept doing his thing! He equalled the ballon d'or to 5 - 5 when he was about making it 6 - 5 they decided to fraudulently give it Modric who was not even expecting to win. Go and watch that clip when they called Modric name. He was shocked because he didn't believe and expect he would win it. shocked

Anyway thank God the 2 werey fifa and uefa president are now serving jail term for corruption. grin grin grin grin grin

Favouritism by fellow players who are his friends: First, I want to say Neymar is the most useless and unserious footballer I have seen so far. Why do i say so........I have seen Neymar lose games in the knock out phase of tournaments and he always feel sad but when the idiot lost the Copa America final last year (in which they were expected to win because they had a good record) to Argentina.......note, final o, the mumu was seen laughing and whispering things to Messi. I feel he didn't play well on purpose so that his friend Messi can finally have an international cup to his name. Because if you watch that game you will wonder why Neymar was not giving his best just like how Mbappe did yesterday. If you think I am lying go and watch that clip again. That's a shame. Do you think if Neymar was facing CR7 he would do like that? Baba go wan kee himself for field to make sure he stops him. And if doesn't he would cry like his other team mates.

Btw, why did they keep organizing Copa America every 4 market days? ;DObviously they did that so Messi could win an international trophy by fire by force! CR7 never had this opportunity and the one he had he took it well which is Euro 2016.

Unnecessary criticism and beef from former coaches and team mates: its OK to have preference but I observed that most of the criticism CR7 gets from his former team mates and former coaches.....they always talk like they have personal beef with him. This rarely happens to Messi. You can't tell me everyone likes Messi it's not possible, but you will never hear them say anything bad about him or accuse him of holding the team back even when he is not playing well and the team is losing. CR7 gets to see and hear all these and yet baba still dey ball dey do him thing, dey break records.......Do you know how hard that is.

Media sentiments: I can't count how many times a team CR7 is playing in is not playing well and the media guys blame him. Now someone will say "well if a team is doing well he takes all the credits so why can't he take all the blame".......no wahala, but my question is, why doesn't that happen to Messi? When Messi was not playing well and the team was losing or drawing games in PSG instead of blame Messi like they do to CR7 people blamed pochettino. Same thing happened when he was in Barcelona....the coaches were blamed nobody blame Messi. Why? Do you think CR7 doesn't see all these? He does but baba still dey do him thing!

Helped by coaches: Messi scored 50 league goals in a single season 2012. In 2014/2015 season, CR7 was on 45 goals before the final match. Guess what by half time he had scored a hattrick which made him have 48 goals. He was now just 2 goals to meet Messi record of 50 goals, guess what the coach did? He took CR7 off! No injury, no major tournament in the summer! Nothing! Yet he was taken out. Which meant Messi still has the record till date. Now ask yourself, do you think any coach will dare to bench Messi if he was trying to break a CR7 record?

The funny thing is.......If CR7 had complained now, haters will say he is selfish and doesn't want others to shine. This will never happen to Messi. I have watched matches that Barcelona would be leading 6 - 0 and Messi will not be substituted because the coach lowkey wants him to break a CR7 record.

Poor National teammates: I laughed when a Messi fan while arguing said Portugal had stars. Please before CR7 joined Portugal how many stars did you know in the team? When CR7 started playing for the the national team.......most fans didn't even know who he played with until he helped them win the euro in 2016 that's when we knew the players. In Messi case he has always had stars playing also side him over the years from aguero, tevez, higuian etc. Who were all top players in their clubs.

Yet CR7 still competed. Do you know how hard it is competing with someone playing with stars who played at top level in their different clubs while you have players who play for low clubs in your team. CR7 is too much abeg!

In conclusion

One has more to learn and be inspired from CR7 career than any other footballer including Messi and these are the reason why he is the real G.O.A.T

Messi is extraordinary and congratulations to him. However, I like Ronaldo more. His ambition is powerful and really overwhelming, sadly, even on his legacies. I will miss Ronaldo, but then hopefully, Mbappe and Haaland suffice.
football pundits , likes of linekar and Carragher have built their relevance and following on pissing at Ronaldo or fueling the debate. When Ronaldo goes, they will be out of steam.

It will be an insult to football if you compare Mbappe to Halland.

All this write-ups are stories. Let Ronaldo play in a world cup final for once before we can start putting him side by side with King Messi. As at early last year Ronaldo fans was shading Messi because he has not won an international tournament with Argentina, now he has and has even won the world cup when Ronaldo has not even gone more than the semi final and will never. Messi has a complete trophy cabinet but Ronaldo's trophy's cabinet is incomplete.

Abi o. All of them just Dey Shalaye up and down. The op had to come up with claims and accusations that holds no ground just to console himself. He should just wait till the next four years and hope his goat, Cristiano, would still be around to compete and have a chance to challenge the true GOAT

Ronaldo bashed his club in an interview with Piers Morgan, still Messi’s fault.

Omo see the kind of people I dey with in this country o. So Ronaldo Coaches removing him is now Messi's fault again. The reality is Ronaldo is benchable any day anytime because he has nothing to contribute to a team than scoring a tap-in, so if I have a sufficient goal already as a coach, I will remove him straight up. My guy, Messi does more than that for any team and we can all see that in this world cup that no one can bench him. You want to compare Ronaldo that was benched and his replacement Ramos score hatrick to Messi that carried a whole team on his Shoulder? It's over guys. In the first place, it's u felas that made it look like Messi is competing with Ronaldo. Every intelligent people have always talk about Messi competing with Pele and Maradona. Even Pele himself said they should wake him up when he wins the World cup. Here we are, he's done that.Lastly, if FIFA wanted him to win it, they would have ignored France first penalty appeal, talkless of the second penalty when the legend have almost lay his hand on the world cup. I can't type anymore...
