If you are planning to buy a treadmill, you should be aware of what features are important to you. It's also a good idea to find out about any warranties offered by the manufacturer. A warranty may come in the form of a lifetime motor guarantee or a limited warranty on the frame, both of which are worth investigating.

When it comes to treadmills, there are many choices. While you can buy a treadmill that costs less than $1000, the best ones usually cost between $1500 and $3000. Buying a quality treadmill can help you improve your fitness level and get into shape and know about how to choose treadmill for home use.

If you plan to use your treadmill daily, you will want to pay close attention to the specifications. You'll want to consider your budget as well as how often you will use it. You'll also need to decide how much space you have for a treadmill. Ideally, you should have at least three feet of unobstructed room around the treadmill. This will allow you to test it before making a purchase.

If you are an avid runner, you'll want to invest in a treadmill with a higher CHP rating. A higher CHP means that the motor is more powerful. It's also a good idea for treadmills with an incline feature, as this can help you burn more calories.

If you aren't planning on running on your new treadmill, you might not need a high top speed. Nevertheless, you'll still want a powerful motor, as this will allow you to go at a good pace. A continuous duty motor that has 1.5 to 2.5 horsepower is more than enough for most walkers and runners.

Buying a treadmill is a complicated process, especially if you don't know what to look for. While you'll probably be able to find a great deal by going to the manufacturer's website, you'll also want to shop around at various stores. Some may offer you a free trial, while others will have a better selection. Choosing a store that specializes in treadmills is a good way to ensure you'll be able to make an informed decision.

Before you buy a treadmill, you should spend at least 10 minutes on it to make sure it is in good working condition. You'll want to check all four contact points on the floor, as well as listen for any noises that might be mingling with the sound of the motor. Lastly, you should position the treadmill in front of a wall to ensure it's stable.

You should also check the specifications of the treadmill you're considering to make sure it's not too loud when in operation. You should also try to find a treadmill with an emergency stop button, which can prevent you from falling off the machine.

You'll also want to test it out in the store to see how it operates. Most models have touchscreens, which can help you monitor your heart rate and track your progress. Some have speakers, as well. You should also have a plan for transporting your treadmill home.

Nice write up but I wish I could get more from it, as regarding a Nigerian user:

Pricing
Maintenance
Types
Market availability, etc

Being a complex equipment, one don't have to dabble into it based on what's seen on movies and videos.

Issues like cost of maintenance, electricity consumption and other stuff that's of concern to Nigerians (elites excluded) should be mentioned too.
