I just dug a Borehole at Apo in Abuja. You will be asked to do a survey to know the depth at which water will be available thereafter you will be charged #7000 per metre. You will also buy casings which costs #18,000 per one piece. You will also buy submersible pump, electric wire and rope.

I just did one yesterday and your cost would vary greatly depending on several factors. Here's the breakdown
1. Actual drilling per meter (+casings and stabilizations, i.e gravels around it), 9,000-12,000 depending on location.
2. Wire of good quality costs between 500-1000 per meter.
3. You can either join pipes, or use continuous length hose
a. Good quality pipe (green one) 2700-3000 per length, and each length is 3m so that's around 900 per meter (i've not bought this recently so don't know the current price)
b. I prefer hose which costs 500-600 per meter.
4. Rope to hold the submersible pump ~100 per meter or less.
5. Submersible Pump (0.5hp) ~60,000

So in my case, it's 60m deep here's the cost breakdown
1. Drilling: 10,500 * 60 = 630,000
2. Wire: 600 * 60 = 36,000
3. hose: 500 * 60 = 30,000
4. 0.75hp pump = 75,000
5. Rope = 6,000

~781,000.

This costs wouldn't be thesame accross every location and woudl quickly become obsolete as prices of materias keep changing

These are the costs associated directly with the drilling itself.
Then you need to worry about the piping and wirign from your house to the location of the sunk borehole, this can vary because for some people, they're able to drill on their property, for other's it'll be just outside the property and for some, a fe meters aways. Like in my case, it's about 100m from my site.

Then you figure what size of tank and what not you want to use.

And yes, not to forget, I started with a survey, best time to do survey is 1-2 months before raining season when the water table is at it's lowest. Did my survey since last year April.
