Ace comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has announced that he and his wife Elsie Okpocha have separated after 12 years of marriage.



Taking to his Instagram page, Basketmouth explained: "After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage."

He asked members of the public for privacy as they navigate their new life.



As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation

''After much delibrations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage.

As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.

We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times..

Thank You'' he wrote;

This marriage of a thing is really confusing and scaring me...

You'll see couples smiling and posting lovely pics up and down on social media professing love for each other, and the next minute they're divorced.

Does this mean that the love and smiles were all fake? I remember when Tonto was all over Churchill, she literally worshiped him on social media, today the worst has happened to their marriage. The same Tonto has come out severally to shade Churchill.

Does it mean that love is fake, and those in marriage just smile to keep up public appearance whereas things has gone south in their home?

Can't couples settle their differences amicably without having to take the exit door at the slightest provocation?

Honestly...marriage has lost its relevance in this our generation.
