We even saw how Afenifere rejected him and endorsed Peter Obi, an indication that most sensible Yoruba people do not recognize Tinubu as a Yoruba leader. Some like the former governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola even openly declared that Tinubu doesn't mean well for Yoruba people and that God should pull him down. Is Tinubu's impending defeat at the poll the answer to Aregbesola's prayer?

What is even more shocking is that even Moshood Abiola who never claimed to be a disciple of Awololo had more acceptance than Mr Tinubu. Our correspondents tried to find out why Tinubu's home base rejection is growing.

The reason given by most respondents is that Tinubu is perceived to be extremely corrupt and has been living large from proceeds of corruption.
