I remember voting for Buhari twice under a scorching sun queuing for hours. Hoping that I would benefit from his government, but as it turned out, only well connected people still get jobs throughout his administration. He did try well with Npower though but I'm not a beneficiary. I wouldn't say his administration is a complete fiasco but I learnt a good lesson. Never waste a single minute voting for any politician not your very close relatives or pals. So, comes February, by God's grace a day to election I will bless Nigeria with a soul of a big chicken, well serviced generator and no matter how this government tried it shall be simple for me to buy fuel enough to last very long since we don't usually have power supply. May the best candidate win.

Building a democracy is not a spectator sport. You have to play the game. You sometimes get it wrong but you learn, adjust and persevere. So you are ready to quit because you twice voted for Buhari and he didn't live up to your expectations? Is that your excuse?

As Nigerians, we find it very hard to understand the simple truth: actions (and elections) have consequences. You may grill your chicken, switch on your generator and stay indoors on election day but Nigeria (in all her stark madness ) will be waiting for you at the end of that day's voting. And she will still be waiting for you the following day. And the day after that. And the day after that one too. For 4 long years.

The choice is yours (and mine and ours).
