The greatest mistake anyone can ever make in life is to provoke the Almighty God. 1 John 4:8 tells us that God is love. He is not just a loving God, He is love personified, but Hebrews 12:29 also says He is a consuming fire. Every coin has two sides. On one side of God, you have love – love so great that He gave His only begotten Son for our sake. On the other side, however, He is a consuming fire. Thus when you hear of people who talk about God as love only, about grace 100% of the time and nothing more, stay away from them. God is indeed kind, merciful, and loving, but don’t mess with Him because He is a consuming fire. If He loves you specially and you fool around with Him, He will deal with you. The word of God made it clear in Hebrews 12:6:
“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.”

You would think the Bible would say that whosoever the Father loves, He kisses, but that is not what it says. If you know that what you are doing is wrong and have been corrected severally yet you refuse to yield, then you are very likely provoking Him to anger already. You had better stop doing that thing you know He does not like. Proverbs 29:1 says:
“He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.”

Nobody can tell me that because God loves you, you can go ahead and do whatever you like. If you can do whatever you like, it is likely that He has forsaken you, because the Bible made it clear in Hebrews 12:8:
“But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.”

For those who say, "Pastor Adeboye is legalistic, he is always talking law", I didn’t write the Bible. It is stated there clearly in both the Old and New Testaments that if you are doing wrong and God is not punishing you for it, then you are a bastard, and bastards will not be admitted into the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 7:21-23).

Now you have moved from your beloved China seeing that calamities are hitting them time after time. These are other countries are too small to make the news but they have their own plagues. So you are talking your usual out of sense.

1. What in the world is all of this? Seek wisdom in Jesus Christ abeg and stop portraying God as if some wrath-filled monster out to get people. The people God loved — gave His Covenant/agreement to— are the Israelites whom He chastened for their violation of the contract they signed with Him. Yes, God in fact did curse and scatter the children of Israel as He said He would in His contract with them back before they even made it into the land of Canaan - Deuteronomy 30 vs 1 - 6. undecided

In Jesus Christ, God's New contract/agreement was offered, again, only to Israel whom God cursed and scattered by God from His Old Law, those who choose to enter into an agreement with God, then refuse to obey God's will this time, not have themselves to blame at the end when judgment will be served — it is until Jesus Christ returns and judges His enemies that Judgement will be served. not before. undecided

How can they worship a God whose name literally indicates that He is not for them? God of Israel, not God of Nigerians — His agreement is exclusively for Israelites, descendants of Jacob. undecided

Actually, China is fine. They are having their own health epidemic too. Remember when Nigeria had Lassa, Ebola etc. I didn't hear you talk your usual rubbish. Even as ravaged by China is, they're far better than Nigeria. I'm sure if I give you Chinese visa, you'll jump at it. So park one side

1. Which Israel are you referring to? The one that has Judaism as main religion? Or the one that has gays as ministers?
2. And why can't yhwh answer their prayers? Didn't he say he answers anyone who calls on him?

If God was and is strictly for Israel physically, why did He physically destroy those who didn't believe and those who murmured among them in the wilderness?

Because His plan has always been to make a nation of priests out of His Israel. As He made clear to them right there in the wilderness, if the parents refuse Him, He will use the next generation, and the generation after that and so on. God continued to destroy those who did evil in the land, eventually cursing and scattering His Israel to all corners of the world, just as He said He would in Deuteronomy 30 vs 1 - 6. Jesus Christ is His plan with which to gather Israel back and rule over her as King in the end - Ezekiel 34 vs 1 - 32 & Isaiah 66 vs 18 - 21 undecided
