Late Pele's mother Dona Celeste Arantes, is 100 years old and still alive.

Pelé's mother is 100 years old and lives far from the spotlight in Santos and does not usually appear publicly. Celeste Arantes do Nascimento, celebrated her 100 birthday on November 20th 2022, the date of the opening of the World Cup in Qatar and the late soccer icon posted the message below on his officiicial Instagram page to celebrate her birthday:

Today, we celebrate 100 years of Dona Celeste's life. Since I was a little girl, she taught me the value of love and peace. I have more than a hundred reasons to be grateful for being her son. I share these photos with you, with a lot of emotion for celebrating this day. Thank you for every day by your side, mom ", he wrote in a post on Instagram.

Pele was born on October 23rd 1940 in Tres Coracoes, Brazil. He was born to Dondinho and Dona Celeste Arantes. He was born as Edson Arantes do Nascimento. He has two younger siblings. Pele often skipped school to play soccer at the age 6. He left school for good in fourth grade when he got expelled when the schoolmaster saw him playing soccer outside during the school day

His father, Dondinho was born João Ramos do Nascimento on October 2, 1917, in Campos Gerais, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil and was also a Brazilian footballer who played as a center-forward.
