Hundreds of Kwarans, including artisans and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Kwara, on Sunday, gathered across their parks to burn the branded caps of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilorin, the state capital.

The red caps, branded with 'O'su wa,' were earlier given by the PDP to the transporters to seek their support for the 2023 gubernatorial elections in the state.

However, the transporters who were led by the Chairman of Task Force committee of the union in the state, Alh. Taiye Olose, said they were burning the caps to show that the PDP led by former senate president senator Bukola Saraki was rejected to reclaim the reins of leadership in Kwara.

According to him, PDP has nothing new to offer Kwarans after ruling for 16 years with nothing to show for it before they were sent packing in the 2019 polls.

"Ko su a wa o (we are not tired)," Olose said repeatedly while burning the 'O' su wa' caps amidst cheers from his colleagues at Post Office, Ilorin.

Others were heard saying "Ko su wa o. Ramoni, Maa se lo,'' as they were joyfully scrambling for the blue caps with the logo of APC.

Various transport unions in the state have severally commended the Kwara State Government on good governance and support for their members in the last three years.

There are feelers in the town that artisans and transporters have decided to reject the PDP and support the APC in the 2023 polls in Kwara.

At different parks in Ilorin on New Year Day, the transporters sang in solidarity with the incumbent Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who is also the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara.

He has shown he lacks the tact required to win back the heart of the ordinary people of Kwara for four years after he was kicked out by the now decimated Otoge movement.
This shows that politics and politicking is not and cannot be hereditary.
A close semblance to this is the Jeb Bush scenario in the US
Those hoping to pass political machineries on to their sons should take note of this fact

I live in ilorin, hangs out alot and hear many opinions. As of today Abdulrahaman winning coming election is very slim, forget what you read online and relate with kwarans. APC kwara have cracks and divided. The governor and saliu mustapha are not in good term, and many people don't like the governor style. Ilorin vote will be shared among Gobir, lawal, oba and abdulrazaq which is not too good because that's their main strength. PDP candidate is likely to pack kwara north votes, offa and some other areas will not vote for ilorin candidate. Only God can make abdulrazaq win the election. Don't forget abdulrazaq won the previous election because of some factors many propaganda against saraki, Lai and federal help which are all not there anymore.
