It is interesting to read that some people who are not happy with the endorsement of Peter Obi by former president Olusegun Obasanjo are now dismissing the import of such a masterstroke of an endorsement.
Some if the significance of president Obasanjo's endorsement of Peter Obi include:
1. It is a moral boost to the Obidient Movement. Obi's opponents have been doing everything possible to discourage Obi's teeming supporters by claiming that the former Anambra state governor stands no chance of winning the 2023 presidential election.
2. It is a clear indication that Peter Obi's candidature is not an ethnic Igbo or Southeast project as being propagated by Obi's opponents.
3. It shows the national spread of Obi's support base.
4. The endorsement shows that not every Yoruba is buying the tribal politics of some members of a particular major political party.
5. It is a clear indication that Peter Obi's support is not an online thing which has been the talking point of certain political parties and their supporters.
