That is the dilemma in Islam. Islam emphasizes a transactional relationship with Allah where you get rewards for good behavior and otherwise for bad behavior. -The Kings lead them astray

You can see how all these culminate in the new testament even if the Jews reject Christ.
In the case of the Quran, there is no such explicit chronology or theocratic relationship established.
Instead, islam seems to take largely from the old testament and mixes with Zoroastrianism and other older religious practices prevalent in the middle East as at that time, and also ends up establishing roots with the Quraysh religions of Mecca.
This large theocratic gap is what makes Islam a very dogmatic religion and little theological or deep spiritual connection.
