Lover boy jumps to death seconds after girlfriend falls from 150ft tower


Clyde Court flats, tower where Steven jumped to his death seconds after his girlfriend Kiran fell, yesterday.

A troubled man in the United kingdom who plunged to his death from a tower block - seconds after his girlfriend had fallen - was heard screaming: ‘If she’s going, I’m going too.’ Steven Parker, 23, followed his love Kiran Creevy, 20, in plunging 150ft from the 12th floor of her empty Leeds council flat.
The couple, who lived in a maisonette nearby and were having problems finding work, reportedly left a suicide note before dialling 999. Neighbours said they heard his final words.

Kiran’s mother said she had received an emotional telephone call from her daughter in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

She got into her car and was on her way to see her. But she arrived at the flat just after they fell to their deaths.

Rachel Whitehead, Kiran’s aunt, told the Daily Mirror that Steven was due to become a father in just 10 weeks after an affair with an 18-year-old woman during a break in the couple’s relationship.

She said: ‘We just can’t believe she has done this. They left a suicide note but her mum has not seen it as the police need it for evidence.

‘He was going out with two girls at once. He was seeing them both and the other girl is pregnant. One minute he was with Kiran and the next minute back with her.

‘I do feel sorry for the woman. What is she supposed to say to their child, ‘Your dad committed suicide with his other girlfriend?’ The relationship was no good for Kiran. She was better off when they were not together.’

Flowers were yesterday laid by Steven’s mother Debbie Cohen at the Clyde Court flats in the Wortley area of the city.

The couple had suffered ‘frequent break-ups’ and ‘in the end they couldn’t live with each other and they couldn’t live without each other’, she said.

The grandmother-of-two has been told by the coroner his death was instant when he fell from the block.

West Yorkshire Police arrived at the scene at around 4am after receiving a call from a flat in Clyde Court, Leeds, which made them ‘concerned for the welfare’ of the two occupants.

‘A short time later officers entered the property and a 20-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man fell from two windows to the ground below,’ a police spokesman said.

‘The circumstances surrounding their deaths are being investigated, however the deaths are not being treated as suspicious.’

Amanda Randle, 23, who lives on the second floor, said she heard the couple’s bodies hit the ground.

‘I thought I heard a gunshot or someone throwing rubbish out, then I looked out of the window and there were two bodies lying on top of each other,’ she said.

She said the man ‘looked dead straight away’ and added: ‘The woman was given CPR by paramedics but she died too.’
Her partner Jason Small, 37, said: ‘I heard shouting and screaming and the police actually arrived before the couple jumped. It was awful.

Another resident, Nicky Dibb, 20, said: ‘I heard the screams. It was just so shocking.’

The matter has been reported to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
