Are Pastors Cashing In On Ember Months? by LoveKing(m): 8:13am On Sep 03, 2011
why are nigerians crazy about ember months?
many people have died to the craze and the source of this craze is the church and these pastors.
its my opinion and likely the truth.
pastors should reduce emphasizing on ember months, they are just another month of the year.

smdh at the logic behind your thread. in nigeria generally, pple are always skeptical about the last 4months of the year irrespective of there religious beliefs. only God knows where such fobia came from. Muslims clerics do warn faithfuls to be careful. frsc road safety officials do warn pple to be careful. government official does same. what yeye motive is behind your thread? Nigerians are very anxious in this period hence they do things carefree which may result into accident or death. are all Nigerians xtians? do they all go to church to give pastors money for prayer of protection? smdh at this your ending obsession for xtianity be careful. government official does same. what yeye motive is behind your thread? It takes religion to make a sane man believe that the last 4 months of a year will be any different, danger-wise, from the previous 8 months.

Another pathetic response from a misguided soul. someone who isnt religious cant give an admolition to others not to be too anxious about the forth coming end of year celebration? i have said it, its just an orientation nigerians have, its got nothing to do with religion. people who dnt believe in god knows that many people would travel interstate and some drivers may choose to be overzealous which may cause accident or death. roads are bad and pple may be under the influence of alchohol. try and reason with common sense. pathetic

@toba

be honest. this is the time of the year were church services increase, tithes, offerings , protection prayers etc. why is it so? its because of these pastors putting more heat into it. Its having grave adverse effects on behaviors of many nigerians who are likely christians

Nothing nigerian about the thread.

The year is winding to a close and people everywhere take account of that fact.

The concept of ember months is a western one.

Whatever is going to happen doesnt need to wait until the end of the year before it does.

Human machinations at work here.

Yall need Jesus for sure.

Well i actually dnt know what u re talking about. As frsc, traditional religion practioners, islam clerics etc would admonish nigerians is exactly how the pastors/church leaders would do.

Tpia u shd know we have hypocrites in our midst that would definite find whatever way to criticise the church & ministers. The motive here is to attack the pastors

The entire edifice of chritianity is built on fear and guilt. One you have fear, you are most likely to seek protection especially from an omnipotent god. fera is the univeral currency of the judeo-Christian religions. You hav eto fear God and the devil is always lurking in the shadows to cause you harm. Our minds are still stuck in the dark ages. During festive seasons, the police in advanced countries mount agressive media campaigns and road checks to remind people to drink less and drive more carefully to reduce accidents . But In Nigeria, we believe less in the laws of physics and the laws of cause and effects. We believe more in the supernatural, like blood sucking demons in our dangerous and delapidated roads used by mostly illiterate and semi-literate drivers driving unsafe vehicles while under the influence of alcohol, marajuana or just their deluded self confidence in their long and lenghty prayers or their juju talismans.
Common sense is a very scarce in Nigeria.

To all Nairalanders!
Please put your safety first in these months and in all others-
don't drink and then drive!
