Galatians 2:16

knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Galatians 2:16 - knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
Reminder - Always pay attention to the context of the message in scripture. And always opt to read from a translation that is easiest for you to understand so you have no temptations to insert what are your private interpretations into what is written.
11 When Peter came to Antioch, he did something that was not right. I stood against him, because he was wrong.
12 This is what happened: When Peter first came to Antioch, he ate and associated with the non-Jewish people. But when some Jewish men came from James, Peter separated himself from the non-Jews. He stopped eating with them, because he was afraid of the Jews who believe that all non-Jewish people must be circumcised.
13 So Peter was a hypocrite. The other Jewish believers joined with him, so they were hypocrites too. Even Barnabas was influenced by what these Jewish believers did.
14 They were not following the truth of the Good News. When I saw this, I spoke to Peter in front of everyone. I said, “Peter, you are a Jew, but you don’t live like one. You live like someone who is not a Jew. So why are you trying to force those who are not Jewish to live like Jews?”
15 We are Jews by birth. We were not born “sinners,” as we call those who are not Jews.
16 But we know that no one is made right with God by following the law. It is trusting in Jesus Christ that makes a person right with God. So we have put our faith in Christ Jesus, because we wanted to be made right with God. And we are right with him because we trusted in Christ—not because we followed the law. I can say this because no one can be made right with God by following the law.
17 We Jews came to Christ to be made right with God, so it is clear that we were sinners too. Does this mean that Christ makes us sinners? Of course not.
18 But I would be wrong to begin teaching again those things that I gave up.
19 It was the law itself that caused me to end my life under the law. I died to the law so that I could live for God. I have been nailed to the cross with Christ.
20 So I am not the one living now—it is Christ living in me. I still live in my body, but I live by faith in[c] the Son of God. He is the one who loved me and gave himself to save me.
21 I am not the one destroying the meaning of God’s grace. If following the law is how people are made right with God, then Christ did not have to die. - Galatians 2 vs 11 - 21
Paul's view in the passage above is that, at that point in time, no one in Israel—not even the Jewish people — could be made right with God by following the Law of Moses. undecided

P.S - Prior to the cursing and scattering of all of the rest of Israel, the Jews, Jesus Christ was made right with God through the following of the very same Law of Moses. So, it is best you first gain an understanding of Jesus Christ — seek first understanding of the Kingdom of God and God's righteousness — before you go attempting to understand what Paul is saying else you will continue to miss what the details of Paul's mess which is primarily to his Jewish brethren — those descended from the tribes of Benjamin, Judah, and Levi— as opposed to all of Israel — the non-Jewish people of Israel. undecided

The laws Moses got from God and passed to the Israelites is just to separate them from the pagan nations around them in preparation for the coming of Christ! Deuteronomy 18:15-18

Salvation will be attainable through obedience to Christ alone! Deuteronomy 18:19

So no matter how someone keeps the Mosaic laws once he gets in contact with the Christ he must realize that his salvation is not in keeping the Mosaic laws but full compliance to whatever protrudes out of the mouth of Christ! Luke 18:18-23

Any Israelite who keeps the Mosaic laws will be remembered during the resurrection of the dead but they're not yet qualified for eternal life {Revelations 20:5} not until after 1,000 years of consistent training on how to master what Christ taught us, only those chosen by the Spirit has escaped this because they have been cleansed through their baptism in the spirit so during their resurrection Jesus takes them to heaven directly {John 14:1-3} where Satan can't deceive them anymore {Revelations 20:6} but as for those resurrected here on earth they must forgo all their past life under the Mosaic laws and stick to what Jesus taught if they want to be counted among the living after the final test! Revelations 20:7-8

That's why Jesus referred to Israelites (who were living under the Mosaic laws) as "DEAD" {Luke 9:60} because the Mosaic laws can't give them salvation rather it's what they are able to do with Christ's teachings! John 3:16

May you have PEACE! smiley
