How often should borehole water be treated?

If you mean the borehole itself, I'd say as soon as the water becomes discolored or foul-smelling.
If you mean the water drawn from it, I'd suggest you set up a sand and media bed to handle cleansing on the go.

The average borehole can spend years without any major maintenance if there are no openings for contaminants to gain entrance into the well.
And you can drill a well today only for contaminants to leach into it the week after.

So, a lot depends on the quality of water you have at the material time in question.

The water quality is ok..But, sometimes there is this greenish clog that comes out whenever the sumo is turned on.

I suspect it could be clogs around the water pipelines.How can one get rid of such?

The greenish clog is likely a colony of algae growing in your water line.

The cosmetic approach is to set up an inline micro filter to stop the intrusion of green matter into your tank.

The permanent solution would be to disassemble the piping and clean them with chlorine, bleach or even more stronger antiscalants.
