Is The Bible Really Powerful Spiritually? by finegirl233: 6:14pm On Jan 12, 2023
Greetings

I started reading the bible in childhood days. I remember how my parents will force us to listen to them when reading the Bible. They made sure i know how to read the bible even though i was a very dull child.

I know almost all the stories in the bible before i was 18yrs. I also don't like sitting with people and discussing so sharing the word with outsiders is never my thing. The problem now is that, i use to read the bible like a story book.

When in church, whenever they started reading it, i will already know the story and lost interest in the whole thing. I use to wonder how people will be talking about the bible like it's a special thing or have some spiritual power that one experience when reading it.

For me, the bible still remains a story book for me or is there something i'm not doing it right?

NOTE

I believe in God any suggestion that leave God or Jesus christ will not be considered by me.

1. The book isn't some sort of holy book, and you are not doing it wrong. If your interest lies in the stories, then it is a good book that contains lots of stories. undecided

2. You say you believe in God, but what does that mean as far as what you have learned from the many stories in the book you claim to know? undecided

I believe in God sir/ma. I don't want to go into details about that. Your first point was the type of answers i needed and not any other thing. Tankiu 4 the contribution.

We learn everyday. I must admit that this is my first time to hear the bold statement.

Sorry to ask, what is your religion?

I don't do religion. Instead, I am a follower of Jesus Christ Himself. What that means is that I live my life in continuous obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, God's Law and Constitution aka the Gospel in the Kingdom of God. . undecided

Awww dear, nice to hear that.

But how and where do you learn about Jesus Christ because you already submitted that the bible is just a story book. I mean how will you grow in spirit?

I am afraid you misconstrued my post. In your Op, you stated that you read and know the stories in the bible by heart, and I responded that it is a story book if stories are what you are interested in. undecided

Also contained in the book are the details of the Laws which God gave to His Israel.

■ The Old Law of Moses, YHWH, which happens to be the National Constitution of the Nation of Israel in the Land of Canaan.

■ God's New Law and Covenant, Jesus Christ, in the Kingdom of God --- the agreement of peace promised by God through His prophets. undecided

2. As for what you term "grow in spirit", all God mandates is obedience to His teachings and commandments, His Law in the Kingdom of God, Jesus Christ. undecided

What are you confused about? Every thing I have said is also found in the pages of scripture. undecided

Yes the word in the bible is very powerful spiritually and physically if any can take them as they're with faith not the book itself.

Of course the Bible is God's word and it exert power {Hebrews 4:12} but don't think it's the paper in which it's written or the one preaching to you that can make it work for you.
NO!
It's like you sitting down and listening to what an old man is saying, through his wealth of experience you can be fully competent and completely equipped to face the future with courage. 2Timothy 3:16-17
So for you to gain the power you must read and meditate {Proverbs 2:1-5} then choose your friends wisely because those who don't trust (believe) God's word can't benefits from it so it's unwise been friends of such ones! Psalms 1:1 Proverbs 13:20 smiley

See, you already had a pre-set yet you asked this question which funny how you want it to be a story book yet you wonder if it is powerful.

It has already given you the food you wanted to receive from it, so now you don't need it.

And saying "you believe in God" does not mean anything for demons too believe in God also.

If you are not ready the bible for revelation I will advice to drop it and never look at it again. The bible is a secret code that is meant to be opened by God as you spend time with him and that secret is where the answers you require to live a fulfilling life .

Revelation of what though? Most of your pastors and mogs read it so they find another place to insert their lies into. undecided

2. Secret code that is clearly presented so that all those with eyes can see and learn? Are you kidding? undecided

The bible is very very powerful, really really powerful just as Harry Potter, but I guess Harry Potter is more powerful

Really powerful to the extent that what was written inside dragged people from different geographical locations on this planet and they became submissive to the extent of agreeing to make peace reign among them globally while mankind has failed woefully to do the same despite all the organizations they set up:

FIFA, UN, OLYMPIC and many more were set up for what purpose?

Ọmọ it was to make peace reign among all the members but did it work?

NO!

Members of all these organizations are still building, buying, selling and using weapons to KILL fellow members but what about the one and only organization using the Bible?

Shame on all atheists and agnostics!

The true God has spoken with ACTION and He has been vindicated that the Bible is REALLY REALLY POWERFUL! Hebrews 4:12smiley

Ha! It is finished. Even if it was 10000. Are you not ashamed of the incongruity?
By the way, it's over 60,000.
60,000 different versions of christianity.

Where and when did your imaginary conference take place?

There are more than 100,000 different religions if each denomination in Islam, Christendom, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Traditional and others for sure and that's to show you curiosity keeps dragging mankind to search for God with that no professor can convincingly say that there is no God.
As for the one and only organization that's fulfilling God's purpose it simply means they have found Him! Proverbs 2:1-5

Atheists use the different diversities in religions to criticize God's existence
Religion serves to fill an inherent need in man to connect to the higher being
Logically, if there's no God, there'll be no religion. Religion is as old as man

Is he talking about the biggest bestseller of all time??
The most translated, loved, hated, persecuted, distributed book of all time
The only book that has changed many. A book that has changed the personality of many from the vilest to peaceable individuals.

Sir Isaac Newton talked about Gravity centuries ago and they can't disprove it till today because nobody can tell what exactly is dragging all objects to the surface of the earth but the same people now want to dispute the existence of God after seeing how curiosity keeps dragging mankind throughout history into searching for God!
