Good evening NL
Please my local electricity distributor just sent in our bill which is outrageous, #40,299 for the month of December, the bill for November was #19000 which I and my family complained was too much only for them to slam us with that of December.

We live in a 2 bedroom apartment, the power supply the give isn’t even worth it, it can’t even power refrigerator and pumping machine we have to stress it before we can pump water talk more of a.c .
When we contacted our local distributor, he said it’s because of Christmas. I had to call ikeja and the customer care(a man) ran a check and told me we were charged more than we consumed and he said he was going to mail my local distributor.

I called back after receiving a service request number from them to know if complaint has been lodged, the lady who attended to me after all said and done told me that the amount on their system there is actually #40000, I argued with her that the initial person who attended to me told me otherwise, she asked me to wait till when my local distributor attends to the issue in 72hours, I have a feeling that the person who sent in the bill has contacted them at ikeja electric after my bro told him our findings from their head office.

Please house how do I go about it if the resolution isn’t favorable?

Get a prepaid(pay-as-you-go)meter. Even at that, electricity is not guaranteed anywhere in Naija

But with prepaid one won't get crazy bill.

Op doesn't understand that prepaid people pay as low as N3500 to N7000 compared to N20 to N40k. Na she get money.

That's right. I am sure if she goes to the electricity office they will enlighten her on the use of a prepaid

I don’t know how they expect someone to pay that kind of money. They don’t even care how someone is living all they about is their pockets.

I laff at people that run away from prepaid meters... if all Nigerians are using prepaid meters, I don't know the excuse PHCN will give us for not having light
