Update: 'I Want To Play For Nigeria Now' Dominic Iorfa Says After Snubbing Nigeria 7 Years Ago‍♂️

Dominic Iorfa Senior has said that his son Dominic Iorfa Jnr, is now ready to represent Nigeria 7 years after he said no to a national team call-up.

"I wouldn't want anybody to misunderstand me. The truth is that my son is not ripe for U-23; he's just 19 years, so he needs more time to mature to that level," Dominic Iorfa Senior said in 2016 when the U-23 coach, Samson Sia Sia handed his son a call-up.

"Moreover, the timing is not good for the young man, he's just getting into the lineup of wolves and there are so many matches for him to play between now and January."

Meanwhile, Dominic Jnr. had after snubbing the invitation went ahead to feature for the English youth teams at various levels, then he was with English outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Presently in the League One Championship with Sheffield Wednesday and no more National Team call-up from the Three Lions of England, Dominic Senior, is convinced that his son is ready to play for Nigeria and face the politics in the Super Eagles. He had stressed that a tender age, his son may not cope with the politics involved in Nigeria's national teams.

"I would love for him to play for Nigeria now but I cannot go and beg them to invite him because this is someone when he was coming on the scene played for England U16, U-17, U-18 and U-20. He even represented England in European Champions ship which they lost in the final to Germany in Holland," he told Sports pundit Mitchel Obi as quoted by Owngoal Nigeria.

"So if you look at it, you can't have that kind of ability and you'll be begging Nigeria for your son to come and play.
