Job Title: NMS Engineer

Location: Lagos

Function: Transmission and Core Network

Reporting to: Transmission and Core Network Engineer

Travel Frequency: Occasional

Job Description: Perform network device discoveries, monitoring, performance analysis, and create intelligent notifications

• Create and maintain NMS documentation for all testing, reporting, and processes

• Implement and test integrations with other NMS and ticketing systems

• Develop quality test scenarios for newly created thresholds

• Improve upon C3 alert work flows and processes

• Build scripts to identify rules and correlation opportunities

• Follow change management processes, and create MOPs, and end-user documentation for the C3.

Functional Skills:

Monitoring & Troubleshooting and Alerting:

• Proactive monitoring of the status and performance of network infrastructure and services across the regions.
• Troubleshooting and resolving first level network outages on the network.
• Perform second level Escalation on network outages or faults to responsible parties.
• Proactive monitoring of the FTTH network (OLT outages, PON port outages, link outages, etc.) for all
faults and outages.
• Proactive monitoring of hardware status of equipment (cooling, power, security, etc.) running on the network and escalating to responsible parties in the event of a fault.
• Proactive monitoring of network trends and alert for network optimization and planning.

• Proactive monitoring services (AAA servers, free side, access control servers, etc.) supporting the network and escalating in the event of any outages.

Work Experience:
• At least 1 years in telecommunications industry
• Familiarity with Linux environment.
• Fair Idea of SNMP monitoring
