Barr. Igwe Receives YPP Decampees, Gets Support From Unions, Groups In Umunneochi

The chances of the emergence of Prof. Uche Ikonne and Barr. Okey Igwe as Governor and Deputy Governor respectively is receiving more boosts as Barr. Okey Igwe yesterday received YPP decampees to the PDP family in his home LGA

Speaking while receiving the decampees in his Umuogele Amuda Isuochi country home in Umunneochi LGA, the PDP Deputy Governorship candidate, Hon. Okey Igwe assured the new members of the PDP that they would be carried along in the scheme of things as the umbrella is too big to accommodate all of them.

He informed them that Prof. Ikonne is determined to bring about a new and smart Abia through his TIGER Economy blue print. According to him, the TIGER Economy is an acronym for Trade, Industrialization, Good and participatory governance, Education and Rural development. He assured that Prof. Ikonne would deploy inclusive governance with emphasis on industrilization in the State and called on them to be committed in ensuring that PDP wins overwhelmingly in all their poling units. Barr. Igwe assured the union members of the commitment of Prof. Ikonne to the Rule of Law and justice in the administration of the State.

Responding, the executives of the YPP decampees assured they will totally collapse all vestiges of YPP in Umuneochi so they can support the Ikonne/Igwe ticket and their brother Hon. Okey Igwe to emerge as the Deputy Governor.

Also speaking, Ndi Ichie, NULGE Umunneochi Branch, Umunneochi Teachers Union and Ministers all pledged to work to support the Ikonne/Igwe ticket in all their hamlets as a show of appreciation to PDP for nominating their son as Deputy Governor.

While pledging their unalloyed support to Ikonne/Igwe ticket, the Umunneochi Teachers Union demanded better and timely remuneration once the Ikonne administration comes in office, NULGE demanded that the Ikonne administration lends its full support to Local Government autonomy as Ndi Ichie and the ministers prayed for victory for the Ikonne/Igwe ticket and all PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections.
