This creation of this post is to answer many questions asked about oshiomole on this platform by do many people who are not frim Edo state. Ans: No oshiomole was not the first governor to pay bursary and as a matter of fact it was oshiomole that ended student's bursary in Edo State and he never for once paid any student. When the students approached him, he saud6 the state was broke an cannot afford thstvst the moment but the state was not broke to marry a White wife, same state was not broke for thugs to throw a 1 billion naira milestone party etc. Q2: is oshiomole the Best governor Edo state ever produced? Ans: If you call top 3 governors I don't think oshimole will be there considering the fact that ogbemudia and Ambrose Alli takes the first two spots respectively. Oshimole was a smart politician and he capitalized on one thing Which lucky failed to develop and that was roads, but economically oshiomole was poor and do many things died under his watch ie Bendel insurance, Bendel breweries, Edo state water board and so many economic activities making the state poorer while him and his Crew feast on tax which he learnt from him friend from the city of excellence. I believe many of you started hearing about Bendel insurance just some few months after obaseki invested massively in the club. This was a club that once had white foreign players under lucky igbinedion. It was my first club I supported before I started supporting EPL clubs. Infact I had to be a good boy and impress big bro if he is to take me to the games. We loved our home team then and our governor will do anything to see the team stays in top flight ( you know what I mean  ). Most of us who knew about crystal malt and crystal beer knew those were the trade marks of our own Bendel breweries, but rumours had it that one OGA at the top took a loan with the company and that's the end. As for water board another OGA at the top sold their equipments according to words on the street and that's the end. I grew up with water from water board running throw our taps. Up to 2010 some taps still had water running occasionally. Some of you may say oh roads are part of infrastructure, but I say to you that it's not enough to call him yhe best governor because even the roads he constructed 90% did not survive two years and the street lights were 6 months wonders and the most annoying thing was that the street lights mainly ran in Diesel. Even the most sunb person on earth will knkw that street light ought to be on solar panels and not Diesel but we all know why right? Sometime the gen would not be put on, but that day money has been budgeted for diesel and someone's pocket just receive it. Lucky Igbinedion performed so poorly as a governor to the extent that subsequent governors became heros for every small work they did. When Lucky Igbinedion was dumping "lucky stones" on bad roads instead of building the roads, Oshiomole came and built such roads. When Lucky Igbinedion failed to build some flooded roads claiming there were "mammy water" in such places, Oshiomole also came and built such roads. As few as those roads were, they made a big difference in a state where lucky Igbinedion did absolutely nothing. Any governor that did anything, no matter how small is treated as hero in Edo state while lucky Igbinedion epitomises failure. Economicallyy, Oshiomole was zero. 2 Likes |
