Would Peter Obi Have Been This Popular If He Was In APGA? by Penguin2: 11:30am On Jan 27, 2023 |
In Soludo’s ignominious letter, one of the things he had against Obi was his (Obi) refusal to come and fly the APGA Presidential ticket. But we know the sentiments around APGA as an Igbo party founded by Ojukwu. Which has led me to ask… Do you think Obi would have been as popular as he is now if he was running on the platform of APGA? Re: Would Peter Obi Have Been This Popular If He Was In APGA? by Frizz001: 1:11pm On Jan 27, 2023 |
Acceptance can be showed and communicated on any day of the week it must not be Monday. Obi respects the people even if he is not in support of the current situation and that is the hallmark of a wise man. He is not like the brutish, sick fools you like to support that think everything is about force and violence sprinkled with ethnic bias/hatred. I though BAT was forming strong man and put a campaign in a SE state on a Monday? Why did they reschedule afterwards and change the date? yarimo: 1 Like |

yarimo:Yes he is. Contesting under APGA would have made Peter Obi look more like an ethnic candidate. Although Peter Obi is contesting under the Labour Party that produced the likes of former governor Olusegun Mimiko from Ondo state, his opponents are still trying to tribalize his presidential aspiration how much more if he had remained in the 'Igbo party'. 3 Likes |

No! He won't. Apga is a regional party. His support base will be limited in the South East. Even Soludo that castigating Peter obi won't contest for president under Apga. Soludo has a presidential ambition. That's why he is rooting for Atiku. Soludo hopes if Atiku wins and complete his Eight years in 2031, then he will now decamp from Apga to PDP and then contest under PDP. What is paining Soludo is that Peter obi is getting Nationwide support. His obidient movement is like a revolution. Even International media are taking about him. If Peter obi is under Apga party. Nobody will be talking about him. That what soludo want. But he was outsmarted when Obi went to labour party. Soludo want to be the first president of Igbo extraction. So he see Peter obi has a huge stumbling block to his ambition. With Pete obi supports and his Political change movement Nationwide. Soludo presidential ambition is dead on Arrival. That's why he wrote that bitter article against Peter obi. He knows as long as Peter obi is still alive and active. He , Soludo is going nowhere as long as presidential race is concerned. 4 Likes |

Penguin2: What made Peter Obi popular is not the party he belongs to, but his integrity For the first time in a long time, people actually saw a Nigerian politician talking about reducing the cost of governance, saying he only owns one house in Nigeria, took no pension or gratuity as an ex-governor, his two kids have no car despite being a billionaire, left 75 billion Naira for the incoming administration, did not borrow a kobo as Governor and called the office of first lady a waste Very few Nigerian politicians can talk like this for it requires integrity to do so. The problem Peter Obi would have had, had he stayed in APGA and become its Presidential candidate, is that his political enemies would have been shouting that he is in an "Igbo party" and chasing "Igbo agenda" 3 Likes |

gidgiddy: Exactly my point. If Peter Obi was to be the APGA presidential candidate, you would have seen APC boys posting pictures of Peter Obi and Ojukwu, and how Obi is pursuing Ojukwu’s agenda through a democratic process. Trust me, even the most educated of Nigerians would have been tempted to think in that line as well. So, just like Tinubu men would argue that Tinubu chose Shettima due to political expediency and not for any religious reasons, same way it was for Obi choosing Labour over APGA. 1 Like |
