This was my experience today in kurudu Abuja. I checked in at a POS to withdraw money. I had to wait for my turn because a woman was depositing some new currency notes. She finished and I slot in my card to withdraw NGN8000 which was successful. Unfortunately the POS operator selected some old currency notes and hand them over to me. "Oga," I said. "Please gimme the new notes, I'm an end user". He however refused insisting that I either take the old currency or leave. I later saw that this particular pos operator had several bundles of new notes in his drawer, yet he wanted me to take the old cash. We argued a little bit. He later transfered my money back to my choice account. This is so sad. What could be the reason for hoarding the currency notes ? Only God can save Nigeria

according illiterates TINUBU is the reason for hording the new Naira notes. As if TINUBU will queue in a banking hall or using pos to get cash in any denomination

That is why I'm against the CBN's 10days extension...those people hoarding it will be forced to bring and transact the new naira once the deadline elapses.

Becos they're left with no other option for buying and selling.

Because in my thinking I felt he is in a better place to return all old notes that gets to him to the bank. Not redistribute them while hoarding new notes.

Maybe, she spent two to four hours at the ATM to collect the new note and she can see you are not willing to pay for the sacrifice for the new note.

How much did she charge you for the N8000?

Almost everyone with the new note is hoarding it including myself, I had 24k last week till now I have only spent 2k reason am not ready for the stress rather I do more transfer or POS. if only Govt has not extend the date and allow the old money to go, from next tomorrow the new money would come out because we have no choice to bring it out
