During a visit to the state today, January 30, angry Kano residents stormed a helicopter in President Muhammadu Buhari’s convoy.
President Buhari is currently in the region to commission some projects. Videos posted online show some Kano citizens throwing stones at the helicopter and chanting “Bamayi” (we don’t want) throughout the visit.

This comes days after Governor Abdullahi Ganduje requested that Buhari postpone his trip owing to potential security concerns brought on by the hardships that Nigerians are experiencing as a result of the Naira swap deadline and the petrol shortage.
