His party has long loathed him. Many in his party see him as uneducated and obstinate. He does not take advise.

Within 2 years of his first term, the reality that he was an empty barrel sunk into the minds of party members and that's why PDP decampees started returning to their original party in droves.

Sadly for the nation, the poorly educated Northern voters and those impressed with his projects brought him back for a second term.

APC only stood behind him because he could deliver votes.

When people say APC destroyed the economy and country, I am amazed as the real burden falls solely on Buhari.

Osibanjo only stood behind him believing that he would succeed his boss. Osibanjo would have been natural successor due to not only his loyalty but in addition, his clean slate in government. There has been no sleaze whatsoever associated with him. I am sure PMB would want someone incorruptible to succeed him.
