Makes more sense to send money based on circumstances rather than a stringent fixed amount

Point 2, the needs of a de facto single mother and a typical mom and dad family would differ in many ways.

Point 3, the pressure on an only-child situation would be greater than a family with 5 children.

Since both of you cannot agree on how to send money, every body should send their parents, I always send money to my mom every month, I don't bother my husband since I also earn, even during the last Christmas he sent money to his late brother's wife ( his parents are late) and I sent to my mom. But I always make sure he's aware, and it doesn't stop me from supporting him. This is a small issue, sit your wife and discuss it.
