I got a company registered last month and when I tried to open a corporate account with one of the banks, it was discovered that the TIN number on the document bears a different business name on search.

A further search shows the registration number “RC NUMBER “ has different businesses to it, mine and another business.

I have written to them and their response is that a number can be assigned to two businesses, alright so how about the TIN number? No response on that.

I don’t know when unique number generation became a problem that we have to assign 1 key pair to multiple businesses.


Seems like no government parastatal is really up and doing.

I’m writing this here because this issue has been a hindrance to the business I planned to start earlier this year, I hope any of their workers or someone of authority sees this.

Please any help on this will be appreciated, these guys are not even responding to their twitter messages or comments, this is frustrating.
