Nigerians Are Frustrated by Rosaline5000: 3:00pm On Feb 10, 2023
Last week when I visited a friend of mine and she told me how one of her Neighbour attempted suicide, if it wasn't for a woman that saw him and raised m alarm that they were able to save him.

In his suicide note, he wrote he was frustrated, for years no good job and he was broke, he just wanted to end it all cry cry
Nigerians are going through a lot, prizes have skyrocketed with no change in salary, house rents have increased.
You go for an average job that dont need connections, the employers will be saying the salary is N60k to N80k, in this economy that one dollar is N700 and you will receive salary of N60k.
The jobs that pays well are given to their relatives and friends or those who can pay very well.

You will spend close up to N1500 for transport fare daily not to talk of food or money for house rents, how can you survive with meagre salary.

Before I use to condemn when i see young guys gambling but now I have seen how many feel hopeless and feel without connections or money they can't make it in this cruel world, so they put everything on LUCK hoping to win that one big win but in 99% of the time, it's wrecks them cry

Today I went to the bank to collect a small thing and there was no cash in the bank after waiting for hours, I had to use my last money to transport back, I had to withdraw 5k for 1k charges.
Just how much are we making that we are suffering and the funny thing is there is no guarantee that after the Elections things will be better.

I just feel we are living in Purgatory and Nigeria is divided into 2 categories, "The Haves" and the "The Have not" and 95% of Nigerians falls under the "Have not"
I hope we survive this hell and anyone planning on harming themselves because of lack of hope, just hold on, pray and know when you hit rock bottom, there is no other way but UP.

Good luck guys

If you think 60k salary per month is a big boy/ girl to you then I don't know what to say to you.

Did you come to this life to just eat and die, because that's all the salary can afford, you wont be able to save anything from it and when you finally have a family without a savings and you are buying cerelac for N32k and other things for the baby, then factor in light Bill's, house rents then come back to this.

If this was 2012 when things were cheaper and fuel was N165 and dollar was N150 then you can say N60k salary is golden.

And dont compare Nigeria to other poor countries unlike all those countries you are naming, we are supposed to have Oil money, many Arabic countries with Oil money like Qatar and co are very rich but we on the other hand are very poor.
The politicians are the ones hoarding the money and only their family benefits from it but instead of you to be angry, you are accepting it as a norms and saying

"At least we are better than Yemen, Syria, those war ravage countries like come on man, is it that we have conditioned our mind to not like good things that our politicians keep stepping on our heads and we are thanking them saying at least they didn't cut our heads off.

We need to change our mindset, countries like USA, UK, Cannada are there, we should thrive to be compare to them not Somalia, Yemen, Syria

Aunty, you better change this mindset of yours before poverty and depression overruns you.

For your information, foreigners(Indians, Chinese, Lebanese..etc) keep flocking to your country each year to do business because of the potential for humongous gains they've discovered within the country.

To give you an example, just take a look at MTN or DSTV ... these are South African owned businesses who have shifted the bulk of their operations to Nigeria all because of there is a serious demand for their services within the country.

So the problem isn't Nigeria; the problem lies with people like you. Many of you are so used to living above your means without being able to maintain it . Some of you aren't even financially literate, so how can you see opportunity? If poverty-stricken Indians can come to your country and blow, then there is something seriously wrong with your citizens

Companies will surely come to Nigeria, they are making money and Nigeria is full of so many corrupt leaders that many of this companies can thrive here.

So many Nigerians that are living by One dollar a day is living above their means, do you know many people eats just once a day, but of course let's blame the masses instead of the politicians that hoard our money.

In our Town years ago, a oil company decided to create a "Step down" for us, constant light supply but guess what the Town leaders ask the company to pay a huge amount of money to them before they can do anything, something that will Benefit everyone but all they care about is their own pocket.
The company went away and still now we are still suffering from it but of course let's blame the masses

Stop this blame game bikonu. From the first sentence in your last post, you openly admitted that companies(aka foreigners)come to Nigeria...so are you telling me that these companies aren't aware of the financial and economic situation of Nigeria...?

Secondly, who voted those politicians into office ...? Is it not people like me and you ? Abegi . All this ranting won't change your situation and neither will it change the country

I don't think Nigeria is at its bottom yet. By 28th or the 27th of this month, the future of Nigeria will be glaring for all to see. A hopeful future or eternal damnation.

People like you are the problem if this country.

If you want to advance then you must compare up not down.

Telling us to compare ourselves to somalis and sudanis induces passivity and lets bad leadership and corruption thrive.

Nigerians must aspire to all our country can become not manage what we have and be grateful for it.

Being satisfied with what you have is a ploy the rich use to keep the poor down and stop them from making more out of their existence. Do not glorify suffering there's nothing humble and virtuous in it.

If you don't keep flying you'll start falling

It seems you've be programmed to misinterpret things but let me make it clear that I don't support passivity of any kind and it would be very inconsiderate if I were to use that to make jest of those lower than me , but let's get one thing clear :

Nigerians should stop blaming their problems on factors that can be controlled by them

The leaders you have in authority were brought in by people like me and you , so who should you be blaming ?Secondly, did you read my post on how foreigner keep trooping into Nigeria? If the economic climate of the country is so harsh , then why are these foriegner coming to open businesses and even get national identity status? The truth is Nigeria has lazy people who want to live above their means . Instead of becoming industrious , we shift to complaining and complacency. And the sooner we realize this , the better we can make things work in this country

There's no single truth in what u are saying sir, u are just sounding biased with invalid points .those points I made up there are what we are asking those politician's to provide we are not asking for much oga, every country that's doing well today their leaders provided these things for them to make life easy to live. We didn't say our politicians shouldn't steal offcourse all politicians all over the world are corrupt, we are only saying they should provide the things we need to live our lives as humans is that too much to ask? That was the reason they were elected in the first place not to enrich themselves while leaving us at the receiving end.
I don't just understand it's seems as grown as u are u lack sense of reasoning or like I said u are benefiting from this government hence your useless points. I will still tell u again, men that talk too much without reasoning detest me!!! T for thanks.

You're just another delusional Nigerian. In 2015 , who did you vote for ? Wasn't it Buhari and his cohorts who are probably older than you and your ancestors joined together...?

So why didn't it occur to you then that these people still fall under the banner of recycled leadership which has been failing since 1960...

8years later you and your shameless bunch are back on Nairaland again , making noise saying " we demand better from our government ". Nonsense. undecided

I didn't vote buhari I voted Jonathan sir, right from time I knew Jonathan was better than buhari, buhari got history of how he hadled this country during military era where he subjected everybody into abject poverty. When the igbos then in 2015 were strongly against buhari contesting as president I knew their reason and I was never in support. During Jonathan's time a litre of fuel was 160 per liter and a dollar was 150 to180 the life that Nigerians enjoyed then cannot be compared to now a Life better than what Jonathan gave us is what we want not the one buhari has given us.
It pained me that Jonathan lost the election den and thank God even those screaming Sai baba of which I know u were among are the ones suffering today and I know u are benefiting from this government. When I see an urchin I spot them with ease!!!
