It is a struggle of values. That is what society is all about.

She is a representative so she may be reflecting the values of her constituents. But is she reflecting their needs?

She is also a law maker and is there to 'bargain on behalf of her people's. As such you should appear 'serious' to be taken seriously.

You certainly do not want your attorney inappropriately before the courts. It won't help your case.

The bottom line as you allude to is, the woes plaguing the people requires the kind of attention she is generating for herself alone. How has she served her people by this.
