Benin City residents protesting over naira Redesign Policy. There is crisis now in Benin City and the residents are protesting. It started this morning 15th February 2023, as transporters and drivers refused to accept the old 200 naira, 500 naira and 1000 naira. Other businesses and even the banks are also rejecting the old naira notes. The angry protesters are complaining about the lack of the new naira notes. The people are hungry and they have money in their bank accounts but they cannot get access to it to buy basic commodities that cannot be done by bank transfer.
