Why are some senior lawyers ignoring the fact that the supreme court already disobeyed the rule of law by entertaining the matter in the first place? The constitution supercedes every other thing and they did not follow the constitutional provisions. Their ruling is non binding on the Central Bank. This is basic law and they know it. They are just playing to the gallery and to protect selfish interests. The ruling itself is illegal it doesnt matter whether is it is coming from the supreme court or not. Period.

This man is right making a public comment on pending matters in the court, talk more of a SC, is prejudice.

The attorney general should honorably resign for allowing Buhari to comment on a matter currently before the SC.

However, there is no honour amongst thieves, if there were Emefiele would have resigned, as such he wouldn't

Honestly, what goes round comes around. Buhari had been flouting Court Orders including the ECOWAS Court but these activists lost their voice. Such instances include El-zak Zaky (don't know if I got it right), Nnamdi Kanu, etc.

2. The Govs, Tinubu had always been silent and support Buhari since 2015 to enhance the sufferings of the Nigerian populace. Thank God, Buhari is for everybody. It is now the turn of the elites to lost and suddenly the want to hide in the guise of pro-Masses to fight but no, Buhari has separated the poor.

3. We the poor masses are solidly in support of Buhari in this monetary policy.

4. We will also reward them by REJECTING APC AND WHATEVER THEY STAND FOR AT THE POLLS ON FEBRUARY, 25.

5. WE will bring in new, young and energetic hands to man the affairs of this country. We will vote Peter Obi

I hope the court will take this slightly...its a disrespectful act to the SC.

Let's leave the hypocrisy please!

Are we gonna pretend that Buhari hasn't been ignoring and making mockery of the judiciary since he got elected in 2015?!!

When he was going against Court directives, a lot of APC supporters hailed him and stood behind him! What has changed?!!

This is just the beginning!

If this happens in the US, proceedings to impeach a president that defies the Supreme Court would be swift.

People don't seem to understand that in undermining the Supreme Court, this President has set a very dangerous precedent that goes to the very roots of the country's legitimacy as a constitutional entity. Other Presidents are likely to do same in future.

Once the Supreme Court is defenestrated, we are on the road reckless lawlessness.

Foreign investors will look at the disregard for even the Supreme Court & they will say no, thank you, we would rather invest in another country where Court rulings affecting our contractual and property rights will be respected.

Supreme court cannot determine what stands as a legal tender because the supreme courts DOES not sign the legal tender. Only the CBN governor who signs it has the right to determine what stands as a legal tender, this is basic law and does not need a SAN or a court to interprete. That as it may, the President appoints the CBN governor right? only him can have the final say of a legal tender. Sefini

The defenestration of the Supreme court is very disgusting and it is very ominous for our democracy. If it was under a military rule, it could be overlooked, even though it should not be. Precedences have been set and we will how far we can go with this nonsense. People cheering this would later talk about the rule of law but no one builds 'rule of law' on the foundation of 'rule of lawlessness'.

DUMBEST MOFO. You and your fellow delusional reta@ded IPIG terrorist monkeys have shown again that you don't really care about good governance as long as you think the issue favours you.
If Obi should be mistakenly become president of Nigeria, these are the kinds of irrational lunatic supports that these IPIG terrorist fools will be giving him even if the policy is plainly bad.
Im.not surprised one bit, I already know that all wailing and crying about Buhari all these while is simply because he's not Igbo. If Buhari had been Igbo with the same things happening, you people would have been making excuses for him on daily basis.
Well enjoy these last days before the election because after the election you will be in sorrow.
You will go back to calling Nigeria a zoo again.
What I can deduce logically from your wonderful piece is all those that have been supporting Buhari have being DUMB MOFOS.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction you know. Buharists (THE ACTORS) taught Nigerians wrongly. The Non- Buharists (THE REACTORS) are only playing out what THE ACTORS have been doing for the past 7 years. Don't blame THE REACTORS. Hope we learn for future references.

President Buhari has just woken up as a LEADER in the eleventh hour. How I wish he started like this in 2015, by now Nigeria would have seen development.

As a leader, you must take action and take responsibility for it.

For the first time, i'm impressed with President Buhari.

Giringory is already president of who? President of Biafuro? Day dreaming is free, reality is another thing.
Namdiot coward Cownu who is currently locked up in the Nigerian zoo cage has a better chance of winning this election than Peter Obi-tuary. Think about that for a sec dumbest OSU MOFO.

These are your choices after the election - go back to your ipob Biafuro monkey camp and start calling Nigeria Zoo again, Japa to Togo or Ghana. Your last option is to jump inside the Lagos lagoon and rid this earth of your miserable low life existence.

When same court made a judgment to release NNAMDI KANU where were these political lawyers when the president refused to obey the court ruling on the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu. Ooh they did not realize it was court contempt because it affected whom they perceived as their enemy.

are they now just realizing the meaning of court contempt?

The SC court is the interpreter of the law.

Allow the SC make pronouncement before you start preempting it.
CBN was not joined in the suit. The pronounment will be to the FG, who will in turn direct the SC to reverse .
It's a matter of the CBN not obeying the CBN Act section 20 regarding change of currency.

If the SC lacked jurisdiction,it's for the SC to say so , not you.
