It takes a whole different level of character and discipline to forfeit what you're constitutionally entitled to so the monies budgeted for those benefits, can be channelled into something else that would benefit the entire state.

He's already a wealthy man and being one who's not as greedy as the other candidates, he chose to forfeit his constitutional entitlements.

You have to be a naturally wicked or greedy person not to acknowledge such noble gesture.
