Few days ago, the notorious Awkuzu SARS Was Once Again In The News On Allegations Of Extra Judicial Killings, Illegal Arrests And Organ Harvesting.

The allegation was made by a runaway insider at the police command.

Most social media influencers published the news and inferred them to be factual without any form of verification or attempt to hear from the other sides before taking a stand.

Till Now,

Amongst The Pen Warriors Of Anambra Social Media Community, Writers And Social Activists, Only Uloka Chukwubuikem Has Approached The Zone 13 For Their Own Side Of The Story Over The Allegations Levelled Against Them.

The rest are on social media sharing and reinforcing one sided narratives.

I do not blame the public because The Nigerian PF in general and particularly Awkuzu SARS has a terrible reputation that precedes them but I can assure you that if this happened in the south west, the western media houses and independent reporters would beseige the police command headquarters the next day on a fact finding mission.

Here is the south east, the reverse is the case.

While the public can be excused for this type of bandwagonism and gullibility, there is no excuse for someone who identifies as a journalist, a social media reporter, an unbiased influencer or a civil rights activist to take a stand on such a sensitive allegation without seeking to hear from the other side.

How do you judge and convict an accused without making any attempt to balance opinion by hearing from the other side?
In journalism, This is unprofessionalism and profound incompetence.

Dear Social Media Writer,

If you truly love Anambra state

If you truly want to see justice done on this issue.

The best thing to do is to keep an open mind and kindly walk down to Zone 13, identify yourself as a social media reporter and demand to see the commissioner of police or an officer from the PPR department and demand for the facts of this case.

I can assure you that every declassified information available on the issue will be made available to you.

It is shameful for a reporter who want to be impartial to put pen to paper without have a balanced view of the subject they are writing on.
While the media mob are allowed to jump into conclusions, a reporter is expected to remain neutral until you collate and sample the various opinions before reporting.

As a matter of fact, professional ethics demand that a reporter remains neutral even at the point of putting own to paper.

While you join the mob without seeking or at least waiting for a balanced opinion, Make sure that you are not aiding the bad eggs. make sure you are not fighting a proxy war for crime. Make sure that you are not reinforcing blackmail and influencing for the criminal elements amongst the police force.

It is a fact that the police force has a lot of corrupt, terrible and deadly characters but that does not mean that we should throw away our think cap and believe every allegation levelled against them.

Without these people, you and I will not walk the streets freely or sleep at night

In Anambra South, it got so bad that our people had to flee their homes and camp in IDP camps.

To do burial or wedding, you must pay.

Daring to challenge the criminals means instant death.

The siege in Anambra South is not child's play and if you believe that fighting the criminality going on at ukpor, Mbosi, Lilu, Ihiala etc is bread and butter then you are very ignorant.

Anambra State is gradually coming out from an era where people are being kidnapped and beheaded with impunity. Most indigenes of these affected areas no longer come home.

We are gradually coming out from a terrible period where our people now do traditional marriages and even burial ceremonies in Lagos and Abuja.

Any sensible person who has access to information should be grateful to the JTF for the success they have achieved thus far.

If ENDSARS has not taught us a lesson as a people then there is no hope for us or our future.

When you weaken the security agencies, you encourage crime and crime fighting is not child's play.

In every story, you must know that there are three sides
✓Your side
✓My side
✓The truth

As a writer, your report can never be sound if you have not heard from both sides.

When you hear from both sides, your report becomes more informed and the truth becomes the sole prerogative of the audience.
Instead of sitting in your comfort zone writing trash and ignorantly attacking people, I urge you and every other responsible reporter, social media activist, influencer etc to walk down to Zone 13 and make independent Inquires.

Ask vital questions

Ask for clarification on why and how someone who is still doing NYSC got to the rank that the accuser is

Ask if the accusations of flamboyant life style is real or fake and demand for evidence.

Ask questions on issues of organ harvesting.

Interrogate the police, it is not rocket science.

That is the only way to find out the truth because I believe that credible intelligence reports and evidences will be made available to you. Then you become aware of a lot of facts that you wouldn't have seen from the comfort of your home.

Sitting at the comfort of your home and attacking those who made this move dosn't make you smart, it makes you a thoughtless and gullible person.

Worthy to note is that every party to this scandal has submitted themselves to the IG for investigation, why is the accuser the only person on the run?

Assuming that his claim that he fears for his life is true, does the Anambra commissioner of Police and the Inspector General of police want to kill him too?

Why not submit yourself to the CP and IG personally to aid investigation if you are innocent?

The public interest in the case alone is enough to ensure that no harm comes to him.

If he is the innocent victim he wants the public to believe he is, why is he still on the run at this point?

Once in a while, It is necessary to sit back and think before taking a stands on issues like this.

The crowd is not always right.

The level of development seen in SW - 2023.

Level of development in SE when compared to SW - 1943.

They are not peers at all.

SW is the Parlour of the entire country. SE is the Pit Latrine.

Where is the best looking place in the house ? Shit Room or where you receive visitors?
