JohnBullMySon:It is always greener on the other side until you cross over to the side. Try it in Nigeria and see. Restructuring or division is the solution to Nigeria. |

Must we copy We need thinkers to formulate our own system We copy everything By now if we were serious people should have started monitoring how the system works here and start formulating policies that will work for us 1 Like |

immortalcrown:Is that not restructuring? Did you read the post? Instead if having a single president you have a head of state council from all the geopolitical zones to vote on decisions. You can then rotate the title of president around just for a head that can perform state functions. Similar to what is in the Supreme Court. |

Ifeelnumb:Everything is built on top of something that is already tested and working. New things are built on existing systems. You can add an innovation on top but if you want go and do what nobody has done, then it will likely fail. If something new was that good, someone would have taught of something close already |

Nigeria should benefit from this model. But the devil is always in the detail. How does a collegiate presidency work seamlessly in Nigeria? |

Ifeelnumb:The Swiss constitution was modeled after the US. They then added the council presidency on top. The Greek "democracy" started from the rise of rich and powerful people in Athens who then sought a way to divide power among themselves. I'm not saying you can't innovate, but the foundation must be based on something which exists, is tested and true. I'm a researcher, and one rule of research is that the foundation must be on an existing work/ result/theory/result. If not, it goes straight to the dustbin. Even for Albert Einstein (copied) "The special theory of relativity was based on two main postulates: first, that the speed of light is constant for all observers; and second, that observers moving at constant speeds should be subject to the same physical laws." 1 Like |

JohnBullMySon:Okay sir I agree with you Like the saying goes nothing is new under the sun But I sincerely think what we need it thinkers to understand our system first before trying out any system of governance… To avoid time wasting and wastages… Peracles started democracy in Athens by the way Which led to their golden age Like you he was also a common man |
