Really?
Bruh, Pixel phones are notorious for having poor sustained performance. Only with the Pixel 7 series was temp control improved; but still the efficiency of the chip is still bad compared to even Snapdragon 888.
And TBH the Phantom X2 /Pro is truly faster than the Pixel 7.
Heck, it's even faster than the S21 Ultra... and that is slightly faster than the Pixel.
However the Pixel only feels fast because the software is 64-bit only, so older ARMv7a apps will not run (like PPSSPP).
But in native AI processing; Pixel 6 and 7 is still king.
The real reason why Google decided to design their own chip was because they wanted their custom ML and AI models to run efficiently on the phone.
You know, the same AI models that run their data servers...

The flagship from Infinix, Phantom X2 Pro uses the Dimensity 9000 Chip, while Google latest device, Pixel 7 pro uses the Google tailored-made Tensor G2.

From research, the Dimensity 9000 beat the Tensor g2 more than 45%.

Now my guy is arguing that because of that the Phantom X2 pro is better than Pixel 7 Pro.

I am still telling him that it's not based on soc alone.

I need more opinion on this.

I'm using camon 18pro now,,, I just need iphone to have the experience of iOS ecosystem and want to experience what the overhype is all about.
I also want to buy it for their good camera performance and most importantly the prestige attached to it.

I would have vouched for iphone 11, but it's liquid retina lcd screen is a turn off for me,, I love OLED screen. Though ppl say that the liquid retina lcd screen on iphone 11 is almost on par with an OLED screen.

As for xsmax, I understand that it only beat iphone 11 in the screen aspect,, but it's build design and lower prestige is a turn off to me

Most mtk devices are not optimised to run resources hungry apps eg big games.

It's not just about speed but optimisation.
There's a reason the likes of SD are more preferable to mtk.

But that's because of Mali GPUs.
Or should I say Mali GPU driver optimization problems thanks to MediaTek not making their drivers widely available for developers (PC aficionados should know that GPU performance is heavily reliant on up to date driver support).
Take for example, all Snapdragon above 865+ can play PUBG at Ultra HD.
Only Mali-G710 MC10 (Dimensity 9000) and Immortalis-G715 MC11 (Dimensity 9200) can do so.
Correct me if I am wrong.
