Chief Kanayo Mokwugo, a chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State on Thursday said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has performed creditable well to merit another second term in office.


Mokwugo who said he will give his vote to Sanwo-Olu also urged Lagosians to dismiss reports that Igbo business owners in Lagos are plotting to revolt against the governor with their votes in the March 11 governorship election.

According to him, Lagos is a cosmopolitan city and the governor, through his policies has accommodated all ethnic nationalities in the state without any form of marginalisation or discrimination.

"People should note that a presidential election and governorship election are two different things. Yes, many of us voted for Peter Obi in the presidential election because we believe he has the best programmes to turn Nigeria around but in Lagos, we believe Governor Sanwo-Olu has performed well".

" He did a lot in his first term by completing the projects left behind by his predecessor, Ambode and he also did his own projects too. I think we should give him more time to complete these assignments. I am voting for him in the governorship election".

" Also Nigerians should disregard lies that Igbo traders are ganging up against him. There is nothing of such. I am voting for Sanwo-Olu but I won't impose my wish on others. Anyone who wants to vote for PDP, LP or other parties are also free to do so. Nobody should be harassed, threatened or injured for voting their choice".
