Peter Obi of the Labour Party did incredibly well in the presidential elections of February 25th is an incontrovertible fact. The legality or otherwise of that election is now a subject matter for the courts of the land to decide.

But then March 11th presents an opportunity for PO to consolidate his transition to a political figure with electoral value across the federation. Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections will hold across the 36 states of the federation on this day and there is still a lot of work to be done.

The one advantage the 'owners of Nigeria' have working for them is the seemingly hopelessness and despair among the vast majority of the Obedients movement, which would reflect as voters apathy in consequent elections. A change of status quo in government should be approached with all the elements of a psychological warfare. This 'movement' should adopt the cold calculating posture of the big cats in their hunt. Expecting mercy or fairness from a group that would want to dislodge from their high positions and means of livelihood would be a pipe dream. The only alternative will be to outsmart and be ahead of them with every move. Fortunately, they have shown their mode of operation in the previous election and plans should be in place to counter it in the second round.

PO should as a matter of urgency galvanize and mobilize the movement for this second round of elections. The million man matches and crusades that held during the run up to the presidential election should come back with full force. Efforts should be make to win at least 50% of states in the 12 states he won in the presidential elections.

Alliances are formed before and not during or after the war. PO and the Labour Party should lead an alliance with the PDP and the SDP to unseat the APC government in Lagos state. This will strike a deadly blow and take away the cash cow that has financed many of APC's excesses.

This is the time to stand up from the throes of this initial 'defeat' and forge ahead as fortune favors the brave.
