I was talking to a Ghanaian friend of mine not too long ago who told me that they no longer know what rigging is in Ghana. It still happens but at a minimal level

Kenya that used to be known for electoral violence along ethnic lines, has since mended its ways

However, as the electioneering process improves in many African countries, that of Nigeria gets worse. The videos of electoral staff, the security forces and political thugs, all engaged in wholesale rigging of Nigerian elections, have stopped shocking Africans. It has become a theater of laughter and amusement for them

Presidential elections were held in Ghana, a winner was declared by the Electoral Commission of Ghana(EC), the elections were so transparent that other losing candidates publicly congratulated the winner, and the election tribunal did not have to sit for one day

But in Nigeria, elections are so brazenly rigged that nobody ever congratulates the announced winner, everyone thinks they won, the tribunal and courts spend months, even years processing appeals, and even the credibility of the judiciary is in doubt

Meanwhile, the rest of Africa and indeed the world, patiently wait for another 4 years to come so that Nigeria can again conduct another fiasco and show of shame called elections, for another round of laughter

What a country, what a tragedy

Mahmood Yakubu to live in infamy for the rest of his life. Funny thing is he will be discarded by Thiefnubuu who will replace him with his tribesman Victor Aluko who is a clueless APC man in INEC and has been positioning himself to be INEC chairman by defending illegalities in INEC.

One thing I have observed about urchins is that they have been very badly damaged by the system, that they don't believe that its possible to do the right thing and still get an excellent result. Badly damaged...smh
